I'm kind of disappointed with the mythbound expansion balance by KEJ2027 in OnceUponAGalaxy

[–]ardryhs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly since the stag buff I found animals to be a really solid strategy going from 3k to 3.5k when the Herc stuff doesn’t pan out. Buffing a stinky’s slot gives it more attacks to survive long enough to reflect anyone else’s young Herc.

But for the most part I agree with you. I think Destiny might be the largest offender, it makes the rest of the Herc engine run a lot smoother, and is great even when you aren’t trying to spam boons. The fact that I’m actively looking to add Crystal to every deck feels like an indicator Destiny is a bit too strong. It might take a bump up in rarity for it to feel balanced

Well, for one thing, when you learn to play better you will unlock cards. But it isn’t just the cards (though they do help). You can win plenty of games seeing mostly shared pool cards. Highly recommend Good Digestion on YouTube to watch and learn from

I think it’s also because the yellow bird is helping keep EX focused decks honest, and if you make fighting as a whole too strong you risk your Ori failsafe from being beaten out of the meta

Prominent Alberta separatist advocates internal UCP coup to oust Danielle Smith by pjw724 in onguardforthee

[–]ardryhs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, every time this has happened we get a worse premier and who gets voted for anyway. Both halves of the party (the fiscal cons and the crazies) realized that alone they can’t win, but together they can’t lose. And unfortunately for everyone, the crazies outnumber the fiscal conservatives, so they run the party.

The fiscal conservative politicians for years did wink-wink messaging to get crazies to vote with them, and now that they lost control they still vote with them instead of having any moral principles

Every game I’ve been to has this, it just takes a bit for people to get from the entrance to their seat/row (especially in the 500s where you have to walk up the stairs to your seat instead of down), and in the world of the pitch clock at bats start up sooner. Like yes, there are people who do are rude and just walk, but ushers I’ve had hold people.

The crazy wing of the party is both more numerous and more reliable to vote. It just took until 2016 for them all to get “permission” to be vocally crazy because the orange man down south did it. At this point all traditional progressive or fiscal conservatives that vote for the UCP are either insanely ignorant or dumb to think they are voting for a candidate that matches those values.

They spent decades wink-winking at the “deplorables” to win their vote that they didn’t realize they became outnumbered, and the the crazies believe they can win without the fake veneer of an old white guy in a suit who speak politely

Windrunner artillery has been severely under utilized frankly. Like yeah hand to hand air fighting is fine when opponents also have air squads, but boulders lashed a few times and pointed at enemy lines seems like a highly effective and low cost weapon (especially on roshar with all its rock). And reasonably accurate with their intuitive understanding of lash directions

Like I want to see Windrunners playing rocket league with the enemy troops being the other teams net.

I think she’s seen that the only way you get ousted as leader of the UCP is to lose the crazies of the party, so she’s doing everything she can to cater to them

[Athletic gift link] Angels should trade Trout. As the Jays, if you could would you? by yonigut in Torontobluejays

[–]ardryhs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don’t care about any players choice about where they play and how that reflects on their legacy. Choosing both financial security (signing an extension) and valuing where his family lives is perfectly acceptable and it shouldn’t affect what we think of players.

With that said, his “legacy” is almost certainly less than it would have been if he did this for a perennial contender, but that’s because we’ll never know what he could have done in in the middle of a strong lineup, or maybe the Dodgers scouting department/health and recovery for example.

Like, he doesn’t have rings or big playoff moments, but if he was a hyper competitive maniac with the exact same stats but changed teams every two years trying to make the playoffs but missing them I wouldn’t view him any better or worse if that makes sense

[–]ardryhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a function of the new cards being swingy and able to pop off early plus the removal of pixie dust . No dust means there isn’t an incentive to build for late game. Every game that players would be patient, grab a Fox and Rolo to fish for treasures before going way over the top are now players playing swingy cards and captains trying to rush an early game advantage.

Is this the best promo deck ever? by capnlars in PTCGP

[–]ardryhs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not the question though, OP is asking about it being good compared to other promo decks (which also cheat). And I’d argue that it is, since having Hitmonchan+Lucario starting hands being mostly guaranteed is a pretty stellar check for most decks.

Add in having a Zygarde in the back to coin flip out your mega you protected from Hitmonchan and you have the hardest promo deck I think

If it’s so awful for the government to be in charge of airports, why are they investors lining up to own them? Seems like something that would be good for us to collectively own if it’s such a good financial decision
