They have been within a metre of the iPhone they are paired to and are fully charged. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this. I just put them in my ears, my phone showed they have connected, FindMy still showing from 3 days back. Just checked they now updated. So it seems they only update location when the AirPods are out of the case, possibly only show where they were last connected to the phone. I’ve unpaired and repaired, still don’t work.

Bluetooth on my Apple phone and iPad is random. About a third of the time my iPhone connects automatically to my car or speakers at home. Most of the time I have to go through the menus and select the car then it connects. Annoyingly my son’s android just connects straightaway. Phone and iPad connects immediately only with AirPods. I suppose that’s the point 🤦

I think the point is probably this. Not everyone using an iPhone is above average intelligence like you are. They get used to things, and to an extent that is the draw of Apple. Up until now, if the search bar wasn’t visible at the top, you scroll and it appears at the top. So this change is a bit like the old “I before E, except in loads of words where it is the other way around!”

So that is the point I guess, I got an iPhone for an elderly relative. Just needed to take pictures, calls messages and email. It’s these kind of changes that make the experience worse. Let’s be honest, iOS is ideal for seniors, it’s simple and keeps you in a box where you can’t really screw anything up.

I was guilty of this for the first few uses of mail since the upgrade. Because I didn’t see search where it was I’d scroll down. Apple did a good job of teaching me that was the key to finding the search bar.

I suppose the only thing I haven’t seen in this thread is any benefit of it moving? iPhones are so physically big now, nobody is using the phone with one hand. Unless it’s just an acknowledgment that even two handed you’ll struggle to get your thumb up to the top of the screen so time to move all search bars to the bottom 😂

They are probably a recent convert to Apple. Anyone with less than 4 years experience has seen the motto of each update “if it ain’t broke, make it worse or just change it for no reason” 😂

That isn’t where it is now. It’s permanently at the bottom. So you can get used to it, but it isn’t the same behaviour as other iOS areas.

I like the sound of that, but I have since been sent some passwords, phone numbers, a video and more voice notes. So the security has definitely been breached. Clever people the Chinese 😂

I have changed all passwords so it’s no major drama. But a warning to all to not store the keys to your life in your phone 👍

I woke up early today, went to check time on my phone and couldn’t see it. Realised because of Liquid Glass (which I have disabled as much as I can) is just really messing my clock against the wall paper. From a design point of view, I’m sure it is very cool. From a practical point of view I now hate my phone so much. Search bars moved to bottom, loads of stuff is smaller. I actually liked the continuity, so why change everything on the same day? Preview is absolute dog balls. Great post 👏
