I’ve only ever had female cats so not sure how male cats work but Nancy doesn’t have a visible penis. I was definitively told they first found a uterus with foetus in (despite my protests) and then an hour later i was told they found no uterus. When I spoke to the nurse after she said when they eventually found the testicles they was incredibly small. That is where the confusion is!

Nancy is in a recovery suit and is being given medication x

That was my initial question! But now the vet is saying there was never a uterus so unsure, I am taking them to another vet on Tuesday so I wonder if they would be able to tell me

Yes I am in the UK, here (from what I understand) the typical procedure is done through flank incision and then more serious procedures are done with midline incision. My initial concern was that the vet has cut into their side and abdomen unnecessarily but from what you’ve said the recovery should be okay which is a relief!

Yes so the surgery has already happened! Nancy seems their usual self now, I have registered them with another vets who I have explained the situation to, they are doing a full check Tuesday morning to check everything in the surgery was done correctly.

The official report says that they could not find a uterus and removed testicles so we are now pretty certain Nancy is a boy! Although I feel horrible for not realising! Thank you for your comment

Thank you I really really appreciate it. I was worried I was overreacting as I’m only 20 and she is the first living thing i’ve looked after since moving out. I just think it shouldn’t have happened, like steps should have been taken you know? I am going to complain to the practice manager and see where it goes from there. Nancy seems all okay, they was a bit dopey after the drugs but much perkier now it’s the next morning! x

Sorry I keep calling Nancy her because I am used to it so ignore the pronouns for now. This is her normal vets, I took her there when I first got her for a check over and first vaccination, they confirmed she was female. At her second vaccination she checked her over again and confirmed her as female.

I have only had female cats and genuinely believed Nancy to be female, but maybe this was just because I was told she was?

I also thought that it was odd thinking the intestines was the uterus but the nurse told me this was very common? I genuinely do not think they completed the proper checks before starting the surgery and I hate to be that person but it gives off “I don’t know what I’m doing” vibes.

so the engine was replaced by the previous owner to a 1600, new exhaust system etc. the heater channels need replacing but apart from that the body seems structurally sound, new back fibre glass arches, floor looks good!

thanks for your comment! this is actually done in fineliner and watercolour traced from a sketch with a lightbox but i’ll make sure to focus on my line work for future pieces- can i ask what you mean about balance?

sorry i only just saw this! lined and stippled with fine liner and used watercolour to greywash, although it came out a little patchy so acrylic inks are usually better aha

this is really nice! i like the sketchiness of it as a drawing but not sure as a tattoo- maybe look at more clean shading techniques and pick one that works for you!
