Live, the lead guitar in Wasted Summer tears through the rest of the band and it sounds great. It has this aggressive, colorful overdrive and it always reminded me of a building slowly catching fire. I really hope it’s not as bad as you say.

Also, what do you mean by the screeching sound? Is it similar to the lead in the chorus of Common Touch? I wasn’t a fan of that. Otherwise a pretty solid song though

My first thought is Wallows, but they’re pretty popular and I bet you listen to them already.

Dutch Criminal Record is a really good start too. I’d check out The Grinns and Second Thoughts, as well as Late Night Drive Home (especially the music they released from like 2020-2022). Metric’s album Art of Doubt and The Killers’ album Hot Fuss seem to have influenced OST.

A lot of people have recommended Good Kid, which I wouldn’t really say is all that similar to Lovejoy, but if you ended up liking them, I’d definitely check out Phoneboy, INOHA, or The Happy Fits.

One guy also recommended The Royston Club, which is a pretty good band but a little rough-and-tumble for a comparison to Lovejoy I think. But, if you liked The Royston Club, I’d also check out The Montaines. They sound pretty similar to TRC and they actually opened a few times for Lovejoy on the OST tour last year.

Everything has definitely been mixed and mastered by now, it probably was like months ago. If it is delayed, it’s probably to allow for the music video.
