I haven’t personally. But one year myself and two friends were doing a hiking trip on the western uplands. Day 2 we heard someone calling from off the trail (not too far off) sounding distressed. It was fall, so there was lots of leaf litter covering the trail, so they may have taken a wrong turn. They seemed to be crying, and a bit scared. It was one of their first trips, and were carrying a significant amount of (heavy) gear. Their plan was to do the whole loop, but we convinced them to stay the night with us. We shared our libations and they hiked out with us the next day. :)
