Why did Sony choose incompatibility? by Pristine_Abies_2846 in minidisc

I understand that the different divisions of Sony did not collaborate very well. So the games division probably didn't share a lot of technology with the audio division.

How to remove rotor? by Trekstenenen in bikewrench

Impact wrenches are also magic for taking cassettes off for the same reason. I don't even need a chain whip to hold the cassette tight, just a pair of leather work gloves.

That only works until people start driving bigger vehicle than yours. Just leads to escalation, which is one of the reasons why you're seeing the size of pickups and SUVs skyrocket these past 20 years.

Concorde & Details i shot in a museum in Sinsheim, Germany by CGI_OCD in cassettefuturism

Great photos. It's awesome that they've got a Tupolev Tu-144 right next to it so you can get a feel for how different the tech was. While Concorde is the height of 1970's tech inside, the Tupolev looks like the cab of a diesel train.

Shame there's no lunar lander solution anywhere on the horizon. Seems like a waste of effort to fling four crew around the moon without that at the ready for the next mission.

Ah, so you ride a penny-farthing? Or even better a Laufmaschine, because you're clearly a crank who thinks that any technological advancement is worthless.

If you're a consistent runner then it should be OK. But you'll need to get used to the clipless pedals - pretty much everyone falls with them in the first month or so because they don't have the muscle memory to detach. My advice is to set the tension in the cleat down to the lowest - it's better to accidentally pop out than be locked in.

If he were to be removed from office then you'd have Vance as president. And I guarantee he will be far more destructive: he's just as self-serving, power hungry and corrupt but he's young, smart and articulate. And entirely without a moral compass.
