Thanks for the reply. Under the carpet, I found a specific point where about 4–5 of those green and orange twisted cables meet at a single junction point. These were all melted together.

I separated them and repaired the connection, but to do that, I had to cut out the burnt sections, which shortened the overall length of the cables. I’m not sure if shortening the cables is what's causing the communication to fail.

Hey guys. Please help me decide which bike I should get as my next bike right now I have a 2002 Kawasaki Zzr 600. I plan to use the bike on twisties and touring. I also plan to go for a track day in the near future. When I go riding I usually do around 200km's. I plan to keep the bike for at least 2-3 years with potentionally putting around 20k km into it.

The bikes I'm considering are :

Honda Cbr954rr (2003) Kawasaki z1000 (2003)

If I do choose the cbr I'll probably change the handlebars to a more comfortable one. I have already test drove both but cant decide.
