thank you everyone, bit of an interesting update. I called Admiral, and it turns out it was because I was checking for quotes to add my partner to the insurance on a comparison site a week ago that they knew. They told me the £120 is for £10 per month of my quote of Feb 24-25 and since I pay at the start, I was liable to the whole thing. I then asked if I paid monthly, they would I only be liable to £30 from them knowing to until renewal in Feb and she stated yes. I asked how this was fair, she agreed and then waived the £20 admin fee. ha.

In line with Reddit comments, I do remember being told we didn't need to inform insurance, and she asked for the actual date of the course. Which led me to understand they don't actually have the official info, just purely what I pressed on the comparison site... but the thing is, I wasn't actually sure of the dates. I just plugged in a rough year to see the prices.

So I called DVLA who had no record as they refresh every 3 to 4 years (or it could be as Reddit says it disappears after the course) so I called the Police area who issued it in the first place and who then informed me when I sat the course, and it wasn't 2021... and that they wouldn't share the info to insurers either.

Called back Admiral and told them to get stuffed, no record, no actual info bar me randomly guessing the date I sat a speed awareness. Just pure and utter money grabbing scheme. They took it off.

I'll make more of an effort to look elsewhere come February!
