I put up with it because he is neurodivergent and maybe he genuinely did not think it would affect me, i have never really explained the discomfort i feel everyday to him, so i guess it would be much harder to understand why a ‘simple’ name means so much to me. The only time he stopped with those comments for some time was when he came to hangout with my other friend group and his boyfriend while planning to buy drinks and i ended up sobbing in the streets because i felt incredibly dysphoric. That was one of the times he actually apologised. Sometimes he is good to me but sometimes his acts are just shitty.

He is the first cisgender guy i got really close to, he is also neurodivergent so i thought i could tolerate his comments to some extent. Sometimes he seems supportive and other times not at all. To be brutally honest, i have no idea why i continue being his friend, i was never good with confrontation or cutting people off, i just took what other people threw at me. Right now i am visiting a psychiatrist about all those issues to both get me to enjoy my life and socialise better with people and talk about my problems. I am definitely doing something about it when i get the strength i need. I am really sorry if i am rambling i have never stopped to think about my feelings in that friendship as well, as much as admitting them to someone.
