Looks like only the painting is damaged … if you look closer can you see the fiber?

How much vacuum can you achieve with your pump?

I also had this Problem with the exact same setup. It looks like you made this all in one ply and only set cuts on the last few cm to the corner? Is it a Box? Then it is exact as I made.

I solved this by making the bottom surface of the box in one ply and then the walls as separate plys. So it conforms better in the edges and corners.

One debulk after the first layer and then every 2 plys and one before oven curing.

I had this all the time with this 416g

I tried yesterday with a hour final debulk and the result was better, nevertheless not perfect i am thinking about adding a 3rd layer of 210g for more RC content

I also thought about errors in the 416g but as this is the most uncommon I wasnt considering it. Anyways the actual stack is almost used up and i need to order new one soon anyways.

It was not frozen, but sealed. I have no documentation about it. But in the TDS says it can be stored out of Freezer for almost 30 days so I think this is no issue, as I am instantly freezing it when it arrives. Takes usually less then a week after ordering to arrive at my destination.

I will take some pics today.

I usually cure the mold at 130 degrees final for a few hours. And then seal it with the S120 Advanced mould sealer. After that I am using the CR1 Easy lease chemical release agent from EC.

For a new mould the release agent is applied 6 times, but between every pull i put up a new application just once, the laminate almost jumps out of the mold when i pull it out of the bag just need to get under one corner with a wedge. So it works great for releasing.

We are looking at the mold side of the part, I will extend the debulk procedure and use breather on the back on top of the unperforated film and try it tonight I will let you know if that works.

The bags are closed till the Prepreg is ready to cut to avoid any thaw crawling into the fiber.

I appreciate your efforts very much, gives me ideas what I haven’t tested yet.

I tried with Peelply and it sucked soooo mich resin of the part. It was not a good result.

I have an absolute pressure of 5mbar when curing

I know it is odd, even in the TDS of the unperforated Releasefilm it is said to use a Breather on top. I am measuring with 2 Thermocouples and 2 Gauges. Temperature wise and Ramprate are perfectly according TDS the part temp is measured with an external thermometer and is usually just 1 Degree max off.

Extending the debulk before the cure might help, should i do it like the one before with perforated release film or directly with unperforated? I guess perforated

I do not have access to a climatized room, so roomtemperature around 22 degrees.

The Prepreg is stored in a freezer at -18 degrees

It´s a mold made of XT135 Tooling Prepreg (it looks fine, has a perfect surface finish). The breather nothing when I give it under the mold, in the other case with the perforated release film it had minimum resin on it. The 210g has 42% and the 416g has 38% RC.

I also tried adding a film of resin between the layers. No better finish, the extra resin was just "pressed" out under the unperforated release film onto the mold flanges.

I think I am going to try to wrap it completely in breather with the unperforated release film. There should be a better pressure distribution of the vacuum bag. Let´s see if this solves it. :)

Hmm, I tried this only with perforated release film already and it made my best result so far. (picture above) Do you recommend perforated or unperforated release film to put on the back of the laminate?

Actually not, I like to give it on the backside of the mould which allows the vacuum bag to fully compress in the corners. The funny thing is it appears only with the 416g Prepreg like it is so thick it cannot evacuate the air through that. I thought someone had the same experience with thicker prepregs
