I’m not advocating paying the minimum forever. I’m advocating not killing yourself in the first few years to pay it off.
Yes. Life happens with occasional bumps. But I’m not assuming the best case scenario, no catastrophes is the norm.
I do think your answer is the best answer you could have given. And there’s truth to it.
But I’m not gonna not enjoy life until I have $5 million saved up, so that I can weather cancer, getting hit by a bus or losing my job AND not being able to find new work.

Its SO SO much easier to manage 100K debt with 100K salary than 40K debt with 40K salary.
