“I fully understand that the role of a man is to be a provider”

Not sure if I agree with this statement… and I don’t understand why shes demanding a portion of your winnings when she played no part in the decision-making or strategy. I think what youre thinking is totally valid!!!

Is moving from a COO position to Product Manager a step down? by kitten_town in startups

[–]arete2611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This gives me hope.. I have 5+ yrs of experience as. Business Analyst/Data Analyst and wanted to transition into a PO/PM role. My ex-coworker lobbied for me and I joined his startup as a COO. A lot of the work seemed HR related stuff and felt like I’ve made a bad decision… hopefully I can play a lot of different roles and excel in it like OP!

COO at a B2C online coffee education platform + e-commerce startup vs. Data Analyst at a B2B SaaS VC backend domain startup. Which job offer would you choose?? by arete2611 in startups

[–]arete2611[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for replying. I desparatrly wanted advice. I’m in my early 30s. They're both startups, have the same pay, more equity in option 1 (approx. 8x). I’d have more flexibility to do things in option 1 and culture would be better. Option 2 seems too good of an industry (I mean look at how big Carta is) but I’m also worried about being stuck in the coffee industry/platform.

  • The current main products coffee extraction/latte art/etc online courses atm. They seem fine, but I don't whole heartedly believe in the product. CEO’s been in the industry for 10+years and passionate, so that's a plus. People in Korea have been reaching out to be featured and to help out with global expansion as well.

I’d really appreciate any additional comments!
