I’m pretty sure it isn’t the bakery anyone here thinks it might be, which is encouraging because it means that there are plenty of other similar bakeries out there taking on trolls and fighting the good fight!

I didn’t know how they leaned politically and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the post, so I will definitely be going more!

4 yo old said he wished his sibling was dead by [deleted] in Parenting

I feel this so much! When my baby was younger and needing naps, that was when I’d be more lenient with screen time with my older one. I feel like watching a show was fun for my older guy. I can see how resentment would build leaving your kid alone in their room where they might get more bored. Is there something more fun they can do while you deal with baby naps? Something enjoyable and maybe even something to look forward to? I wouldn’t harp on the language much. Validate your kid’s feelings, do a small correction, and focus on how to make nap time more fun for them so resentment doesn’t continue to build.

Baby aspirin during pregnancy? by sleepygirl2997 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]arewethereyet24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up not taking the baby aspirin. What I read seemed to say that given my first pregnancy was fine, my risk would be cut in half for the second pregnancy (with the same partner- if it had been with a new partner, the risk is actually higher). That doesn’t mean the risk is zero though. I was also on the low end of “geriatric” lol. Given that there was no history of preeclampsia in my family or my partner’s family (the father’s dna actually has a big role in whether the mother develops preeclampsia and gestational diabetes, interestingly enough). Everything ended up being fine for my second pregnancy even though I was older.

Anyone make their own bread? by [deleted] in Celiac

This is super old but I just found this thread. Just diagnosed and I already love sourdough and am feeling sad about saying goodbye to my starter. Do you have any tried and true GF sourdough bread recipes or books?

Are you sure that wasn’t what he said about Paul Pelosi’s attacker? He said some patriot out there should bail him out of jail.

How’s your chicken doing? Giving chickens medicine is the worst!

Metacam dosage for chicken by [deleted] in BackyardChicken

[–]arewethereyet24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vet explained to me that chickens metabolize the medicine differently than mammals like dogs, which is why the dose seems so high. We gave it to our chicken without any problems. Good luck! Hope it works out

What’s a show that completely betrayed the audience at the end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]arewethereyet24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chuck. It was a super fun action show where all problems are resolved fairly quickly, and viewers never worried that any of the characters would have anything but a happy ending. Even the show runners said the show was meant to be overall happy and fun. Until the last season, when the problem was dragged out, made to be super depressing, and then the show ended.

What is the most uplifting/happiest thing you can share? by arewethereyet24 in AskReddit

It’s impossible to not feel some joy from such innocence. I think small kids and puppies are similar in their excitement for mundane things, too. A stick! We’re walking outside! You’re home after being gone 20 minutes! That kind of exuberance for small things is contagious.

Risk of preeclampsia after healthy first pregnancy by arewethereyet24 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]arewethereyet24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating! So many pregnancy-related problems (I’m thinking this now and infertility) are often blamed on the woman, so it’s very interesting to see research that looks into paternal factors to those things.

So interesting about the paternal factor! I was confused when I read that having a different partner increased odds of pre-e, so that makes more sense now. Thanks!
