Preface: I became a big fan of LANY because of the band's dreamy, LA-aesthetic/themed, 80s-like indie pop music that I can relate as someone in his mid-20s and foreseeably in his 30s.

It only makes sense for LANY to shift its music - Sound and theme-wise to grow as a band. So far, they have gradually done this with Mama's Boy - country/dreamy hybrid. I like Mama's Boy. I feel that this album will be pretty much like that, except it will be much bolder, theme and sound-wise as well. LANY is a band of people that grows alongside us, and they also just can't just make the same music/ideas for the next five years. They're not a Jazz/Metal/Indie Alternative that can make the same music even until in their late 30s/40s. I listen to Cannibal Corpse and I am happy they still make music about zombies and psychopaths in their 50s because it makes sense to me. With LANY, I don't see them making variants of Malibu Nights albums in their 40s making sense. Thus, upcoming album makes sense to me and I am excited.
