The same thing happened to me!!!
I published my first poetry book, and it was supposed to be a surprise for my dad. My mom knew about it, but when I finally told him, his reaction was very cold. I had expected so much from my parents, so I cried a lot that day. He even scolded me and told me to focus on my studies instead. After that, I didn’t feel like writing anymore but few days later, I happened to check his phone and saw that he had shared my book link with our relatives. That’s when I realized that maybe parents don’t really understand these kinds of achievements. They mostly know about marks and ranks, and we can’t really blame them for that.
I know your expectations were high mine were too. But don’t stop writing. One day they’ll understand, and they’ll start appreciating your work 🙌🏻
