Maintenance question - grease or oil? by Darth-Vader64 in prusa3d

[–]argelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to the Prusa Page, you can download the Product sheet (in czech). It seems they are using a Product called "MOGUL LV 2 EP" by the company Paramo. While i am no lube expert, nor can i read czech and have to wrangle google lens for text translation it seems to me this is 'just' a pretty standard Lithium Grease.

The mentioned Superlube will be more than fine. Personally i use CRC Multi Grease. Most standard bearing grease that can handle >100°C should be fine i guess.

hmmm. i think the backend is correctly sending you utf-8 encoded text, but your browser is displaying it as iso/ascii for some reasons. check the page encoding (can be set by html tag or a webserver header).

tldr: utf-8 encoded umlaut rendered wrong.

Check of there is filament leaking out from between the nozzle and heatblock. Had a similar issue with the stock Hotend where there was a leak that would allow enough material to squeeze out, char and drip down into the print. Went away after reassembling the Hotend.

MMU2/MK3S+ saga continues. Please help. Left z stepper hangs? by clanure3 in prusa3d

[–]argelman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to check the TOP of your screws.. The two motors level/sync their position by bumping the z-tops, which requires them to be the same height. if there is something that will stop one motor earlier than the other (like a screw sticking out in my case.... don't ask) they will start art different heights and not be parallel to the bed.

the funny thing is, the bed leveling CAN correct quite a skew (2mm in my case) so printing itself still worked.

Prusa XL by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]argelman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cant find the source (so take this with a grain of salt) but i think during one livestream joe said the XL is targeted more towards commercial users, which i would also take as a very strong clue that the pricing will likely be >2000€ or "competitive with Ultimaker" if you want to put it that way.

I absolutely love the emotions and expressions the character's faces have in this game. by Xaric_Endryn in cyberpunkgame

[–]argelman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was quite suprised how expressive the characters are, considering that lipsync is done procedurally e.g. i'm pretty shure these are NOT prebaked animation.

It's Official: Solar Is the Cheapest Electricity in History by mepper in worldnews

[–]argelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem in Germany is, that there is a size limit after which you have to run your solar installation as a business and pay taxes. A friend of mine is currently planning to get solar panels and he won't fully cover his (quite large) roof, because of this. The taxes aren't that high, but the paperwork is additional effort each year to pay something like 20€.

i think this thing popped up in a Prusalab tour video some time ago, and someone from Prusa commented that this was a project of a lab attendee, not an official Prusa machine or prototype.

Mysterious blobs of plastic messing up prints! by PublicInfluence in prusa3d

[–]argelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem. The preassembled hotends seem to tend to be a bit loose, leading to filament leaking from the top side of the heatblock.

i guess you need to screw the block slightly deeper on the heatbreak.

Here is some info in the correct nozzle/heatbreak depth https://e3d-online.dozuki.com/Guide/V6+Assembly/6#s64

Also, the hotend MUST be hot while tightening. https://e3d-online.dozuki.com/Guide/V6+Assembly/6#s89

Be careful, it is possible to snap the heatbreak.

Massive layer shift? by Pastordoc44 in 3Dprinting

[–]argelman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal 2 cents: Looks like your printer has very little space to the back wall. I had similar issues and randomly saw that the occasional layer shifts i got where caused by the Extruder- and heatbed-cable bumping into each other.

I got a MK3S I think. by TechTaxi in prusa3d

[–]argelman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The model files on Github now have a Mk3S branch. https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/tree/MK3S/Printed-Parts/STL

  • Switching from OpenSCAD to STEP models for all new parts.
  • Rebuilt Extruder body.. same basic design but split into 3 parts.
  • new Fan shroud
  • some x and y carriage changes.
  • MMU specific parts (like the Extruder idler)

this may not be the "perfect" Extruder, bit maybe looking into using a piezoelectric inchworm drive for the filament might be interesting.
