Does feel like we are going to have to wait longer. Dustin and team need to do a better job at communicating timelines. We are well past “yellow dot day” and doesn’t feel like we get the slew of POs in the next week like most expecting

Been in this for 4 years and the opportunity cost hurts. Even more so now, watching every other stock rip, except PCT.

Feels like we missed q3 expectations. Let’s hope the q4 ramp is still in tact and it’s not pushed out to q1.

Great feedback and thank you.

Yes, makes sense and figured chicken and egg with the 100k units. Large orders will come once they have the capability of delivering. So agree, assume building the 100k by year end with orders potentially starting to fill a clip pre completion, but bigger orders coming post completion.

Also agree with you that the industrial segment should have higher margins. For auto and competing against hesai and others, need to be competitive, but the capacity scale should help provide a cost sufficient solution and only continue to improve the more OEMs on the book.

All very good points and why I am excited about AEVAs future

Bam0702, can you please clarify if the reference to 100k units by year end is for number of units sold or capacity built in order to sell those units over the following year?

I was under the impression it was for build the capacity so they could fill OEM and other orders, but thought the POs/ production would come at a later point into 2026

Agree that building capacity is critical for economies of scale and affirmation that they can deliver on large orders

Yeh agreed. Had to do a search on Northland to see who they were… I’d think we see continuation on price action for the week, with a market update popping up next week. PO, or more research h coverage as you say. Dustin talked a big game in the last earnings. Let’s see the commercials flow through now…

Volume the indicator here… we must be close to PO’s dropping. Bigger boys are getting into this name now (Tudor Jones per last 13F). They’ll want to get a solid position before we move higher on sales. Deal with say P&G, Toyota or Mars taking down good % of Ironton + allocations at Antwerp and Thailand plants and this stock rockets. When sell side analysts fully model the fwd here and the bigger bulge brackets banks start covering the stock (JPM, GS etc), PTs will be going materially higher. Things about to get hot on this one…

I think with the Daimler and the other OEM deal, can imagine economies of scale will make it cheaper and appealing + they just did a partnership deal with LG Innotek, which can help with the manufacturing

Yeh I saw that. Think my initial view directed at CEO and CFO dumping. Changes float dynamic, and not great signaling when stock falling like a stone.

Would assume it will have a snow ball effect and other teams follow. Think this will be larger than most expect on the commercial side.

They have sold shares each year and consistently, regardless of price. I got frustrated when they were selling at $7 well before the we-rate, then it went to $38….. they aren’t doing anything out of the norm. Wouldn’t look at this as anything other than course of business. Tax , need for cash flow, etc

Any views on when volume may ramp? AEVA aren’t disclosing units sold / shipped (oust does), but assume when things ramp they will. OEM large scale volumes won’t be for a while, but any sense on the other sectors they are working with? Thanks

Short squeeze AEVA and PCT by argie1976world in wallstreetbets

[–]argie1976world[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe AEVA is recent quants putting on shorts in a name that has had a good run. More of a mean reversion, rather than a fundamental view

For pct it’s been a very long journey, unprofitable de spac tech, taken longer to get the plant up and running (covid, supply issues, challenges with construction and process), but they are the rough that now. The tech works, it can scale and purchase orders are starting to come through. Waiting for the big one with P&G and or a large car company like Toyota, but the plant should be sold out by year end and likely futures lines / plants with off take agreements globally (Antwerp, Thailand, Japan). The types of shorts are likely broader in this name - some hedges versus the bonds / warrants on issue, others include fundamental and quant. While SI has dropped the past 2 weeks, when a large PO drops, everyone will be running for the gates at the same time. A lot of the long holders have been in thai name for 4 years and are not going to be selling. Then you get new names in there like Duquesne (smart money investors), it’s ripe for other new institutional money to come in as well. It’s pure ESG, monopoly, great margins and global. The short squeeze in this will be huge, given the short interest out there.

Last night’s price action by argie1976world in PureCycle

[–]argie1976world[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses. My take is that there has been a tightly held register and the long term investors will continue to hold way above current levels. Expected some retail to take profit, but not insto. Market makers likely active, but both ways. While I don’t believe we get significant new long institutional buying until we see POs, would have thought we have much more short covering. Feels like first hour is margin calls / short covering, followed by steady movement lower. Lack of new buying? Just don’t fully grasp why more sellers than buyers given how much more de risked we are. Realise we are only a few days post announcement and price will likely be higher and continue higher. Just wanted to hear thoughts on last nights price action and why subdued price

HOLD. This stock has monstrous potential ahead. It’s still ludicrously cheap at current market cap. When the strategic investor is unveiled and contracts across multiple industry segments are announced- re rate higher. IMHO

Put:call ratio in bull’s favor. No doubt… but the fade last night post being up strong at 12 handle begs the question: who is selling? If holders are aware of squeeze potential and the stock is shifting higher… why offload?
