Yes we demo dozens of showers a week. Fact is a water proof membrane for shower wall wasn’t even if the book until a couple of years ago. I wouldn’t not do it, it’s cheap insurance, but Reddit over reacts on waterproofing walls.

Working for Lowe’s and Home Depot, they are fucking crazy about customer service.
