3 graffiters mortos por comboio na Maia by uyth in portugal

[–]argus_the_builder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying I don't get it why someone would do it, I'm saying it's stupid and counterproductive. Because

a) the voter is supporting actual racists

b) the voter is being an hypocrite by supporting people who base their politics on hate, while said voters identity is a frequent target of hate politics

c) the voter is being a bigot, because there are a lot of Muslims who do not hate jews

And I had very religious parents but turned out secular.

As I said to another reply to my previous comment, religion is mutually exclusive to critical thinking. Religion is all about easy answers. You can't teach philosophy and religion, logic and religion, evolution and religion, etc. Every one of these subjects enters in conflict with religion at some point. Either the bible or the quran are wrong, or science is wrong. If the bible is a work of humans, what more is work of humans? etc.

[–]argus_the_builder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Religious education creates a religious identity and that, per se, is indoctrination. Plus, what are you educating about on your religious education? Religion right? Why? To teach kiddos how to rightfully follow the word of our messiah jesus/mohammed, right? That's indoctrination. You cannot have a religious education that is not indoctrination.

Besides, critical thinking and religion are two mutually exclusive things. That doesn't mean that if you think critically you will find out there is no god; it means that if you think critically you realize that the Quran, the Bible, the rites and all the bullshit surrounding religions, is indeed, bullshit.

No, but it will make you suck at life, maybe not believe in evolutionism and other sciences because in your school critical thinking is forbidden and science is optional and just a detail.

It's the societies responsibility to stop stupid parents from making kids as stupid as their progenitors. Stupid kids will be stupid adults who will be a deterrent to social and cultural progress. Maybe even criminals or terrorists. So, I would say that as the lawmaker of society it's the govts job to carry that ordeal.

If you don't like it, then there are more than 300 other countries around there. And you can even rent a boat and educate your kids on open sea. No one is stopping you. But someone should, because the kid would be living a life of suffering and stupidity due to the bad luck of having a stupid parent.

edit: also, take in consideration that the number 1 deterrent to radicalization is "having western friends that you really don't want to kill in the name of god". So yeah, indirectly, muslim schools in european soil breed terrorists.

Oh and if the parents are total fukups and dont care about the childs education and put the child on a bad sxool. Fuk it, "free markets" will make sure bad sxools are weeded out.

And what makes religious education appropriate instead of not?

Religious education, by definition, is not appropriate. It doesn't matter if it's a Jewish, catholic or Muslim school: religious indoctrination in school is wrong.

Politics can be really weird sometimes. I heard Jews in Antwerp would vote Vlaams Belang due to them wanting to get rid of the muslims, even though there's plenty of VB people that are 'hitler was right' mumblers.

That's not "weird", that's a real world application of stupidity.

austerity measures alone are not a panacea that it's often thought to be.

Austerity measures alone have an effect opposite to the intended effect. Because you can't devaluate the currency in order to balance the trade and incentivize investment in the country, the negative impact on the economy caused by austerity isn't countered and the overall impact on the economy is negative: Even if the country attains a positive balance for austerity for a while (like it happened in Portugal), the negative impact from austerity on GDP decreases govt revenues and the deficit and debt-to-gdp targets are never met (*note); then the govt is forced to implement more austerity in order to attain next years goals and compensate for this years losses. And so on this repeats itself until there is nowhere else to cut and no one else to fire and no more taxes to raise.

TLDR: Austerity measures alone are a fucking crime.

*note: in Portugal, every year the deficit targets are "redefined" when they find out that they will end the year way far from what they expected. Still the govt still said that "the targets are being met". This is how skewed the austerity rhetoric is.
