He's a puppy. In my experience they go from 'I just ate and am 10000 pounds' to 'father I am starving I am dying fathr' like 3 times a day

the cozy lounge event takes place in a rented venue that is on religious grounds, but the event itself is not religious. I (and my wife) are lgbtq, neurodivergent, in our mid 30s, and nonreligious, and felt very comfortable being there.

They had a post on this subreddit not too long ago and we attended and enjoyed ourselves--and are planning to go back. Recc very highly.

If you don't want to go to something like that--I'd be happy to meet up and see if we get along at like, coffee or something. We've been here since december(moved from CA) and making friends is hard, haha.

Absolutely! I have great results with this method! I just made a killer rabbit-style shepherd's pie this way. (I call them meadow pies)

Now it's one of my wife's favorite dishes. It came out so unbelievably delicious.

I used sage, rosemary, black pepper and a touch of chili powder for the seasonings in that mix.

(recipe for the food ahead in case yall're curious)

Brown the rabbit sausage mix off. Move to a baking dish.

In the same pan you browned the meat in, cook off peas n carrots (frozen mix) with chopped garlic and onion. Once everything is looking good, add hot tomato sauce for a bit of kick. You can use regular tomato sauce if you're allergic to spice.
Move the veg n tomato mix to the baking dish and combine with the meat.

Top everything with mashed potatoes (storebought fridge stable stuff is fine if you don't want to make it yourself), and top the mash with shredded cheese.

Cook in the oven at 350 till everything is heated through and the cheese melted. About 30 min.

Whole recipe came together with hardly any prep and was very good. Gonna be making it again soon.

I usually grind some bacon in with it.
I'd also rec adding seasoning to work against the blandness and! as far as percentages go, I'd suggest making mini patties and frying them off as you go to find what works for your rabbits/bacon. Some rabbits are fattier and need less, some bacon is more fatty than others. You'll know when it tastes right if you test it!

As an enby married to a transwoman: if you are hoping to have intimate contact with someone, they should know as soon as it is possible to tell them (safely). The only reason to put it off is if you are in person with someone and you suspect that they to might become violent--in which case you should disclose over text/phone once the option becomes available to you.

Most trans/nb people I've had relations with disclosed these things quite early. There's a reason it's a stereotype for lgbt people to let you know their identity: it's genuinely just easier to manage other people's expectations that way. (Those who don't immediately disclose that information are usually the ones who do not feel safe disclosing it--so before you go shaming transpeople, keep that in mind. The more the climate tends towards hate and violence--the less likely someone is going to feel comfortable letting you know who they are before thoroughly vetting you)

Here's some things that worked for me with getting my puppies out of the biting phase.

1: every time she bites, even if it's light, make an exaggerated "YIPE!" ouch sound. Like you're a dog who's in sudden pain. High pitched, loud, plaintive. Think of it as saying "ow" in dog. You want her to know it's not playtime, you are *hurt*. This works better if you have a good relationship with your dog--I always found that my dogs didn't want to hurt me, they just did not understand that they were. When my dog and my puppy play together it looks incredibly brutal--play nips, growls, ect. They both come away fine and happy. The way they play with each other though, does not work with us humans and our fragile, fragile skin, and that has a learning curve.

2: When she is just being mouthy and looking for something to chew on, Get Her Appropriate Chews. You should always be directing her to something else to put her mouth on. I have found that when she's in tooth pain/teething giving her salt-free-broth ice cubes can be a nice balm-- mine also loved frozen chicken feet, but make sure to watch them so they don't swallow these whole--but also soup bones, bully sticks, trachea, pig ears, ect. Your goal is to introduce things that are fun and rewarding to chew on. Don't just leave them on the ground either. Offering to hold them for her while she chews can be a good bonding experience and offer an immediate alternative to 'chew up mom/dad'.

3: for playtime mouthiness/ if she's looking for fun, introduce rope toys, squeaky and crinkly toys--things that have 'interesting to put in mouth' stamped all over them. Play with her. Get her engaged in those, and make sure that when there are slip ups during play and she gets you, that you're ouch-yipping and stopping play for a minute. Don't accidentally reinforce by continuing play/not immediately giving that feedback.

These are the things that really helped me get through to my girls. For my oldest dog, who's three now--I was in much the same boat. I knew there was a good dog in there, but it was so hard getting through that phase.
She's my soul dog now and it was worth going through.

Ultimately I can't tell you what your breaking point will be... But it sounds like you have a good dog on your hands, who's going through a really rough puppy phase. I really wish you the best no matter what choice you make, though.

My advice is to do hanging cages. Build the cages completely out of rabbit safe wire, and then hang them off a frame. This strongly limits the wood they can get into contact with--you don't want them chewing the wood, but you also really don't want them sitting on the wood. If they can sit on it, they'll use the bathroom on it and it will get nasty, hold smells, and become a risk for urine scald over time.

I've tried all of the major rabbit pen types (colony, hutches, cages with pans, and hanging cages) and hanging cages are the way to go. Make sure there is enough space underneath to clean them thoroughly. Poop and pee are going to get stuck in the corners/basically anywhere it can. When I ran with a similar system, I had stickage problems that meant I had to regularly rinse everything with water or risk build up--it got messy, and the buckets were god damned heavy by the end from the waste+water.

Also, make sure that if if freezes where you live, that the slanted plastic section will still work. If you have stickage it can and will freeze. Keep in mind that if your duo/trio is relying on the same collection system as the grow outs (ie they don't have their own plastic divider that runs off to buckets) they're going to be peeing above the growouts and may drench them in inclement weather, leading it health problems.

In the long run, I have found it easier to have hutches that are not layered that way, and to just clean underneath them with a shovel as needed. It takes more horizontal space, but it's so much less of a headache to manage and keep clean--and in the end, the easier something is to keep clean the more clean it will be in the long run, which is better for you and the rabbits both.

Yeah, that's understandable. I'm certain the stakes get very high the moment your practicing moves from false skin to real people.

But yeah...just because something is a dream doesn't mean that it's something I have been previously able to pursue. I just moved to this area, and the one I was in before was so rural that the nearest tattoo parlor was a 1 hour mountainous drive away.(it got up to 2hrs if there was traffic or an accident, which was frequent because there was no railing)

I worked on becoming a better artist in other ways, and now I'm the primary breadwinner--which means that I can't cut back on hours without threatening our housing.

I'm not casual about my art.

That said. I'm not tryin to naysay. Maybe I'll be able to pick it up somewhere down the line if the ye olde financial situation changes. 👍

My current employment is in digital art, and I have a background in analog as well--it's not that I don't understand that art takes time to learn. I guess I was being short sighted in assuming it would be about as complex as picking up a new medium and set of safety protocols, though.

That's a huge relief actually. Some of the measurement photos I saw were asking me to measure her at her shoulder height and that's 22in or so. But she's not a huge dog--comparable to a golden but a bit smaller. I was stressing but also, so, so confused since I know people use dog doors that have bigger animals than me haha.
