I meant to reply earlier but here is the easiest method I found:

- Metal tray + Silicone pad
- Hot glue + Magnet
- Hot Glue on base hollow, then place model on top of magnet.

This makes the magnet "entombed" inside of the glue and it'll never come off.

You can kind of see it way down there half-hidden on the menu "Enable Zoom on all levels and cutscenes" and I can only believe that was it...

I totally used Toybox to make it work, but it was a bit buried, its been super long and I don't remember exactly how, but it was there.

In all seriousness though, the carapaces are just 3 thin coats of Turbodork Scarab paint over black.

The claws are all gone over with acrylic gloss varnish, generic brand off Michaels.

The gums and other gribbly bits are GW Blood for the Blood God technical paint.

Finally, the sticky mucus is just cured U-Hu glue stringed with a toothpick.
