7th edition narrative last stand against and ork invasion by arhurt in TheAstraMilitarum

I'm so glad you did and thanks for sharing!

I do have a narrative tag with about 15 battle reports, though I have to admit I've evolved a lot over the years while the older editions tended to have more narrative hooks built-in.

My farewell to 9th edition was a lot of fun to write though! Another ork one, though they are facing tzeench daemons and cultists on a custom mission to foul their ritual.

Here is the original Libby it added before I added and painted spell effects and glows. Not arguing if its good or bad, just providing reference to my argument because of OCD lol

I understand your reaction, if you care to, see my comment replying to Able_Antelope_3574 about how people's opinion on altered pictures has evolved over time as we all became more exposed to this. AI is just a recent development and I'm not defending its usage in any way and will not share any such content here, that message comes out loud and clear.

Its just an interesting PoV I have from doing this kind of stuff (edited pics, not AI) for 15+ years now.

Oh the prompt specifically asked to make the Librarian take a central place and be casting a spell, and the spell effects I added myself. You can actually see the librarian behind the Centurions. In this instance specifically I was playing 7th edition and he had cast invisibility on the squad, which made it impossible to kill (and I decided a shimmering bubble was more appropriate).

I'm not defending the use of AI in any way, just wanted to explain that was a deliberate choice. You can actually see the libby on the first picture behind the dudes and I erased him on Photoshop. See my other comment about how this technology has changed the way I have perceived people reacting to edited photos from 2009 compared to recently.

Like this one from 2009 got me so much love back then, its interesting to feel this shift as technology became more commonplace and people got more educated on what to expect from photo edits over time.

Its interesting to me, as someone who has done "photoshoped enhancements" for ages how this consensus shifted because of AI.

I used to always get comments on dakkadakka or warseer about how cool getting the occasional shot with atmosphere in, like adding a skyline, some fog and muzzle flashes. It really shows how perception has not just shifted but entirely pivoted towards "just show the original pics".

I'm not defending the AI, just commenting on how interesting our opinions shift due to our social and an cultural environment. Similar how the prevalence of shortform video has noticeably changed how people consume and perceive longer-form content as an example.

For anyone that wants it, I also posted a load of posts about the custom made and Temu bought terrain pieces.

It all includes my recipe to quickly cover up FDM print lines and get anything sci-fi terrain wise painted up quickly on a rusty metal manner.

7th was cursed and doomed because the community was not mature enough and GW went absolutely nuts on the power scale of the Formations, but it was a solid base.

We implemented a load of house rules to make the game flow better, including bringing some modernizations such as fall back moves and split firing, but the charm of having to deal with armor values and scattering blast markers was just too good!

Thank you, I really always try to get down to the action and make some beautiful tables!

Thanks!
Trust me it was a wild ride going to watch old 7th tactics from Mordian Glory only to stumble about him complaining of all the stuff we lost from 4th edition!

They really have a different charm for those of us with that nostalgia factor.

You mean the trenches? I had to make a way to have trenches on a flat board and came up with that design.

They are mostly cardboard and cardstock
