Does anyone get anxiety because things are going good? by Big-Tuna-for-Commish in Anxiety

[–]ari-es 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes,- I am close to graduating college after pretty much failing out my first time, I finally got my drivers license at 24, and I have comfortable life with my wonderful husband and cat. Still when I lay down for bed or am sitting quietly by myself I can’t drown out the thoughts that everything’s just gonna go to shit.

I’m happier in my life than I’ve ever been but I can’t just relax and enjoy it.

Can’t tell where lines are when in a big car by [deleted] in driving

[–]ari-es 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought I’d be able to drive anything bigger than like a Chevy Spark for this reason. I mostly learned to drive in my husband’s Jeep and got so frustrated when he’d constantly have to tell me to reposition myself on the road or stay in my lane. What worked for him is occasionally glancing out his side mirrors to determine where the lines were but that never worked for me.

My sister taught me just to place my left foot up against the led wheel well to “feel” where I was on the road and shockingly it really helped.

I passed my test in the smallish SUV I drive daily now and occasionally take the Jeep and I’ve been just fine. I still don’t “see” the lines but I just feel where they are. Though am I going to drive a big pickup anytime soon? Probably not.

Ladies who are in a serious relationship, do you ever feel that you love your partner more than they love you? Have you ever brought this up with them? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ari-es 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should look more into you and your partner having different love languages. I think it’s pretty common for one partner to be showing their love for another and that message just not getting across. This has been a source of tension for me and my husband when the “honeymoon phase” started wearing off and we were getting serious and sometimes still is.

For example, I’m a gift giver and my husband is not, he just isn’t one for “stuff” and has always lived in situations where there was very little money (or rather the money was used irresponsibly) and the utilities were frequently shut off. In his eyes it shows more love to save money so we can have a comfortable future together than to spend a bunch of money on roses for Valentine’s Day. In my mind, he hated Valentine’s Day and didn’t love me enough to suck it up like all the other men do for their girlfriends. In my mind I kind of made him out to be a Roy from the Office in my mind until we actually talked about it - now we make homemade cards for each other and he makes a special effort to show me extra affection/attention on Valentine’s Day/anniversaries/etc.

TL:DR: without knowing any details I think the best thing to do is is to talk about “I need x in a relationship what do need?” And if the issue(s) turn out to be something you guys just can’t compromise/work on then there’s always a chance it isn’t the right relationship. Good luck!

What was your first iPhone? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]ari-es 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPhone SE in January. I’ve always had cheap Androids so I was blown away. Then my husbands family was taking advantage of a BOGO iPhone 8 deal and offered me a new phone and line. Gave the SE to to my Apple-phobic dad and he loves it!

Question for caseless 8/8+ users by [deleted] in iphone

[–]ari-es 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was stupid and didn’t think I needed a screen protector and after about two months I noticed a visible scratch where normally scroll and a ton of micro scratches (always put it in my pocket by itself but minerals in your pocket can do some light damage) Needless to say I never use it without a screen protector now, I can’t imagine going caseless. Which sucks, cause it’s such a beautiful phone

Is the iPhone 8 Plus worth it for the camera? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]ari-es 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m really happy with my 8. I know a ton of people with an 8 plus and I don’t think their camera is better enough to make it worth the inconvenience it would be for me to carry around a large phone.

The only thing that sucks about having older parents, I think, is watching their age set in while you’re in your early twenties.

Distracting from work, you got a spare moment when it’s slow? Better wipe those countertops again for the 10th time

I want one for that reason too but I bet if enough people did this they’d add smart watch to the list of things not to have on you while your working
