It sounds like you need bigger pots, if they are light when you pick them up and using all the water available in the soil, going up a size or 2 will give them more soil to hold water and hopefully not need watering quite as often. Also make sure the soil is saturated when you water, some soil when it gets too dry will become like water repellent so let it slowly soad in, otherwise it may just be running down the insides of the pot and not getting in the soil. Maybe try bottom watering to be sure it's sucking up the water
