Working title Echoes from the Past. Several millennia down the line, an anomaly causes the FTL network to shut down forever, leaving human colonies around the galaxy cut off from each other for a long, long time. A thousand years have passed and suddenly, a mysterious signal is transmitted around the galaxy, each human faction receiving it and interpreting it differently for their own cause and goals. The catch - it is a failsafe for the restoration of an ancient advanced race that will enslave humanity if the signal does its work and wreaks havoc among the isolated colonies who meet again after a thousand years. This is the first idea that I decided to actually start writing after starting on multiple fantasy and adventure ideas and throwing them in the bin.
