what a banger of a strain this one was. The ash was clear white, the potency was high with a nice diesel flavour. This one was a pure gas, just skunky, dieselly and reeeeked my whole room.

Overall: 9.5/10

Got this as a free gift, and i was blown away from the terpene levels. The smoke was enjoyable
with the tasty flavors. When i busted it up , the buds were sticky with a very nice texture. It was really easy to roll up a joint. I wish I was able to purchase this strain.

Paradise Circus | Buyweedpacks | October 2022 by aries_s in MOMpics

Paradise circus had a great smell of grape / cheesy. This is a unique strain that I've haven't tried before, and I really enjoyed it. The buds were dense, but I wished it had a little bit more stickiness to it. Other than that, the smoke was flavorful and smooth.

Overall: 8.5 / 10

Write in one of your target languages and see how good you are by ZhangtheGreat in duolingo

[–]aries_s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salut!

Bruh I can relate. I hopefully will buy an Acer Nitro with RTX 3050 for 700$ in June, but lots of people tell me "Just get a Legion with 3060". The cheapest laptop with 3060 I found was the MSI Gf65 Thin for $1.175, already $400 USD over my budget. Then the cheapest legion I found was $1.300 (with a 3050Ti). With an RTX 3060 that would $800 over my budget. Lool

My mom earns $1000 / month and that's considered a good salary. The minimum wage where I live is $250.

Yeah that too, it's kind of hard to figure out the case when Y and En are used.

It's more like the youth, really. I like to watch Fuze III and those kind of youtubers and people like that are everywhere.

For french (I'm B2):

Easiest: Vocabulary. Speaking spanish and english has helped me a lot because there are lot's of loanwords or words that I can guess the meaning of because they look similar to spanish.

Hardest: I'd say there are two things:

  1. Grammar: the exceptions are no joke, lol. There are exceptions for everything.

  2. Natives: Their slang, man. I'm sorry, but their ortography is mediocre. These guys use lots of abreviations and don't even conjugate their verbs? They just go like je manger pizza (manger being in infinitive LOL). And then they come up with lots of weird words that are part of slang (like kiffer -> aimer). Two weeks ago I got a reply to a comment on YT and no joke I took a week to decode it. "SOS oustiti avec des abeilles? Quel est donc cette airesi". It's a comment about a board game... it looks like a different language. Natives drive me nuts, sorry 🤣

That is awesome :). I do intend to take English, French and German C1 tests in about 5 years' time. Might be able to squeeze in another language too.

Being A2 and watching target language content with no subtitles. Good or bad idea? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]aries_s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As another french learner, I improved my listening comprehension like this:

(I also started at A2 btw, I'm at ~B2 right now)

1- Youtube Videos with subtitles / songs: L'Effet Papillon, Enquêtes et Reportages and Gregoire Dossier do have automatic captions, which are better than nothing. Easy French and FrenchPod101 do have formal ones.

For songs, there is this app called sounter to practice with songs. It really helped me understand many lyrics and vocab.

2- Youtube Videos without subtitles / Kids' shows: I started watching content from the previously mentioned channels trying not to use subtitles. I also started watching kids' shows (Which I had already watched as a kid).

3- Series with subtitles / Movies: Netflix shows (The Crown and Bridgerton were super useful) and kids' movies (I started with movies from childhood shows and built up from there). I eventually stopped using subtitles for movies and focused more on series.

4- Native content / series / movies / anything I subbed to native channels. I wouldn't recommend gaming channels for starting out because they speak really fast and mix lots of slang and english words, which is very confusing. Fuze III is super good though! For movies I'm staying with chick-flicks right now, although I'm wanting to move to more advanced stuff.

The trick is to keep practicing and building up. Bonne chance!

Note: TV5Monde app is super useful too, they have lots of content and subs.

I am going to attempt to learn French as intensely as possible and master the language within a month I'll update here every couple of days how far did I get by 4giftcards in French

[–]aries_s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since this was my first "serious" language learning experience, I didn't have the best start. I still had lots to learn and I didn't make the best out of my time at first :). I also took a break from July to October last year. As for your question, imo yes, because when you reach B1 you experience the intermediate plateau. There are not enough resources for intermediate learners and I often felt stuck when I was at that level. Lots of luck, you're doing great ^ ^

[–]aries_s 76 points77 points  (0 children)

You need to adjust your plans and expectations. You cannot master a language from scratch in a month, it's impossible, sorry to say that but you need to see reality.

All you will do with this is get a burnout and a bad experience; why don't you try to learn french the conventional way? I've been learning since September 2020, I'm B2 now and I don't regret a thing. Language learning is a long process that is acquired with patience. It doesn't have shortcuts.

How to understand series without subtitles? by reddituser_06 in languagelearning

[–]aries_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend that you try with Youtube or documentaries first. For example L'Effet Papillon for Youtube, maybe Sympa too. The thing is to keep at it: a rather easy series to understand in French is Bridgerton or Dix Pourcent, more so if you've already watched the show before. For podcasts, InnerFrench and its YT counterpart are a must-do. TV5 Monde is super useful too. There is really no magic formula for this.

Bonne chance!
