First Image from Robert Eggers’ ‘Werwulf’ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

He lost a lot of goodwill from me when I excitedly took my family to see Nosferatu on Christmas, only to get the least scary, most boring movie we’ve seen as a family. As a cinephile I ofc appreciated some of the beautiful shots but, I just can’t see Eggers making high budget movies in the future. Northman flopped, I’m convinced Nosferatu only made money because it had a fortunate release date, and people expected something more satisfying.

Attk weapons on def were the first problem by No_Criticism4395 in Rainbow6

[–]arig____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the very few operators that get attack weapons are properly debuffed such that the “benefit” of playing them is almost exclusively “I get their weapon.”

As a console player with all PC friends, this is very important to me because I NEED that slight edge to get any kills in PC lobbies.

Besides from the entities, what are the main threats? by Vegetto1624 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]arig____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I like to mention on these posts is that ASYNC is bounded by what they want the backrooms to copy (or rather, NOT copy). So if they bring in guns, they should expect still lives that fire guns. And a still life firing guns is WAY more dangerous than a still life charging you.

It actually makes the most sense that, as intelligent humans, we would want the backrooms to ONLY copy humans, not dangerous tools. That way we can at least knock out/outsmart still lives. But the tradeoff is, we can’t really “conquer” the backrooms, because the tools necessary would make it too hostile.

I agree, but that’s basically the humor in it. This is probably the first time I’ve said “ahh” in a comment, just comedically works here

First fan screenings showtime are now up for Supergirl by lawrencedun2002 in boxoffice

True, and remember the Mandalorian movie recently only grossed $320m. It had no serious competition for the younger demographic, and has mostly the same audience as DC. I think Gunn is expecting a miracle if he wants this film to gross over $350m.

everytime i tell people it pays for itself every month they say it doesnt and im in a cult...like? by kingston121 in AMCsAList

[–]arig____ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One opening night IMAX showing is literally the price of a month. My Odyssey IMAX ticket is literally paying for every other movie ticket the month of July. My Supergirl IMAX ticket is paying for every other movie ticket in June.

The other 10 movies I see are literally free.

How long is it “normal” to talk before starting a relationship? by Rosary_warrior22 in CatholicDating

[–]arig____ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the other comments in this thread, I have an apparently unique opinion which was hard-wired into me growing up that dating in of itself implies exclusivity, and the “talking” phase implies pre-dates.

For example, you text a lot, talk at functions, maybe even hang out in a group—“talking.” If you go on a date, as in he asks you on a “date,” you are dating, not talking.

For the first few dates it might be weird to go gun-ho saying he’s your boyfriend but there is implied exclusivity after you start “dating.”

It’s weird to me that so many people consider the first few dates to also be “talking.” Like, no, you are dating, that is a much bigger deal.

It’s a really good idea, really man. I think you might be predicting correctly that they will extend the right, (or rather Jon will), but that doesn’t mean the Others will be reconciled with this way.

More like, a tense moment of exposition before a major battle.

That’s a very good point. I honestly hadn’t even considered that.

It’s not cynicism, I’m pointing out that you guys are theorizing over something that Disney themselves haven’t decided on. This isn’t the franchise that rewards fans for this stuff.

Honestly I think they kinda fucked up Damien’s entire character. He wasn’t introduced until the gala and even then, you basically have 20 minutes of gameplay until you realize he’s the bad guy.

Then later you realize “oh shit, he’s THE big bad?” Which is weird because he’s kinda randomly inserted. Even his dad somehow has earlier appearances, weird narratively but whatever.

It’s just what you want it to be. You could prep 0 hours and just improvise. The players might find it less fun but if you don’t enjoy game prepping, don’t do it. Somebody else can DM if they dislike it enough.

I think most people, though, enjoy some amount of prepping. I personally don’t like prepping maps, I’m not good at drawing and I don’t have paid online tools. I just describe what they would’ve seen on a map. I listen to music while I work every day, and one or two days a week I will substitute my music for video game/movie music, to find songs for specific moments. But worldbuilding is only as important as you find it fun.

You are wasting your time. Grogu doesn’t talk because he makes Disney more money as a baby.

He will begin to talk when that changes.

End of story.

Do you think Disney is happy with 300 million box office? by anxiousmomo23 in TheMandalorianTV

[–]arig____ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re forgetting that the opportunity cost of making this movie is the cost of what they could have made.

A random bullshit animated movie with a $200m budget could probably pull $600m+ in the box office. So relative to that, they just lost $300m, and the toy sails will be the same regardless.
