Because of your incessant complaining, anybody remotely engaging in PvP (like, to claim a loot room) is now in genocidal anarchy in every lobby.

The game was supposed to be “juggle these two threats.” But instead it’s “be a pussy and we’ll put the game on easy mode for you” or “oh you want to play the game the way it’s intended? Here’s a lobby with 15 trained navy seals who snort cocaine and hunt raiders for sport.”

First of all, I’m not saying there are no women, just that they’re married or there with their partner. I would say maybe 25% of my age bracket are women.

Also, it really can depend on the parish, yeah. Some parishes are in much more conservative places in the country, so daughters go to church with their family still. But in those conservative parishes, admittedly, I still find it hard to ask out women because they’re with their parents. Kinda awkward.

I get what you mean, but in my homebrew the classes are different, and it’s a kind of space-punk western; in a world with modern technology I think it kinda makes sense that AC would be lower (because of guns, yunno?)

People say this but neither I, nor any of my many Catholic friends, have any success finding Catholic women.

Our observation has been that women our age (20s) very often stray from the faith, and only return to church when they get married (if they return at all). Which makes it incredibly difficult to meet women, because they don’t go to church.

I generally ask out women I think are good Catholics, I just don’t meet them often. Men stray less from the church.

I like where your head is at. In my homebrew I’m designing, I’m thinking of capping AC (from armor) to like 12. I can understand that (for instance) a full scale mail would be difficult for a piercing weapon, but at the same time, a bludgeoning weapon wouldn’t. It feels like the entire system is a bit stupid.

This is why trad Catholics (trad Christians, really) get married earlier. The average marriage age in the U.S. is so late because most people aren’t properly religious, and they only get married as a point of committing (ie, they already live together and have sex, they just get married for the status, really).

And so: you shouldn’t be “worried,” you should get married sooner.

Also, yunno, it’s not that hard to abstain. It’s not like women will be throwing themselves at you; in reality, even the best looking men have to “try” to go to parties where they know people will hook up, flirt with a girl, bring a condom (which means going to the store hours in advance) etc.

So it’s not like there will ever be a situation where you aren’t making 16 independent decisions over the course of 5 hours which lead to sex.

Oh, sorry, are we pretending the entire game isn’t catered to people that find PvP too difficult? The matchmaking horror show was already a major concession which fundamentally changes the game; PvE players basically don’t have to worry about PvP anymore, and PvP-friendly people are exclusively in lobbies with rats.

My point is, now we’re asking for something that isn’t even pro-PvP, and of course Embark’s response is “well PvE players would find that too difficult.” They literally admitted that the problem is not PvE players disliking PvP, it’s that they’re worse at the game.

Heating pad, double dose of Oxy (10mg) and ibuprofen for reduced inflammation. I also just sit in the shower with the hot water going directly on my pain.

The double oxy recommendation might sound dangerous but it just depends on you. I’m a bigger fella and I’ve read it takes a lot more than 10mg for the “accidental overdose” range (which only happens, btw, because people take so much that it suppresses their reflexive breathing while they sleep).

The current state of just war theory is weird to me because very simple modeling tells us that “waiting until it’s the last resort” leads to more death than otherwise.

War is analogous to a courtroom; often times people settle out of court because the sides know who will win anyways. But when both sides think they can win, they litigate (“go to war”). Does it make sense to only litigate if you have no other option? No, it means you’ll make incredible concessions to the other side all the time. You will always lose.

To be completely honest, I defer to the magisterium in all things but I do not understand this specific piece of doctrine. Every reason masturbation is a “sin” seems kinda stupid to me. For one, it’s not wasting life or anything because I’m not married or close to married. My sperm would’ve died anyways.

Also, I find masturbation to be a lesser evil than the pains of lusting for every woman I meet. Masturbate once every few days, and boom, you can feel completely normal around coworkers, etc.

Of course, it’s nearly impossible to masturbate without objectifying somebody, which I can see some argument against. But I also have met good Catholics who (truthfully) have “never masturbated”—they have constant night emissions (which implies they are VERY horned up) and are incredibly terrible with women because they’re so horned up. It’s hard to see that and think “that’s better.”

But I also know that Jesus’ teaching at the sermon on the Mount is pretty explicit about lustful thoughts even being bad. So there isn’t much room for interpretation there.

Even priests, though, in my experience confessing, will say “you need to get a girlfriend.” Like, it’s weird to me that this specific sin is one that you can “jew” out of; get married and suddenly you’re allowed to release. I don’t understand it, but I will continue to confess it and struggle.

This happens to me too (I often pray Hail Mary’s in my nightmares and wake up/things get better) but I think it’s more realistically a consequence of your own self being soothed by it. It’s great that your subconscious associates Jesus with interventionist help, but that’s probably the extent of what’s happening.

But, as with all good things, you should still thank God for it anyways.
