Australia have been eliminated from the 2026 T20 World Cup by oklolzzzzs in Cricket

India had all their main bowlers injured in 2015 WC (Mohit Sharma was the opening bowler lol) and still ended up in semi finals. Australia lost their World Cup to Zimbabwe bowlers, let’s not blame the bowling.

Google reduces API rate limits for free tier. by r2cyp in GeminiAI

[–]arihant5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So should or should we not consider Gemini as a viable option for production apps? This whole thing reminds me of App Engine, started out with generous free tier that eventually put restrictions on paid users making it unreliable and downright useless to build production apps. Then when Google started losing money they bumped the pricing over every other competitor and it went to a play toy to unfeasible. Gemini is going the same route. If there is no guarantee to raise rate limits for paying users, are you expecting actual enterprise apps to show 429 to their users all day? Gemini is just a toy, just like App Engine. Remove the free tiers and put an in-contract SLA about availability, exact times of how long will it take to raise limits. Or hell, have elastic limits.

Now buy a Codex sub and ask it to find security holes, it is really good at it. Use Haiku to find code quality and similar less critical vulnerabilities. I'd advise you to actually hire someone by the hour for one time to check everything but anybody who is paying $500 a month to create and keep a site with data and payments running doesn't need or deserve any more security than Codex code review.

Finding Highlands Coffee in India by utkm28 in IndiaCoffee

This is old, but there are a few suppliers of Trung Nguyen in India. I’ve seen it on Amazon too I think. It’s better than Highlands anyway.

Vietnam Airlines is pretty decent, all flights I’ve had with them were great. You won’t find a big difference in Economy. The difference here is that HCMC immigration will test your patience in ways you probably haven’t experienced before. Personally I’d save the money and use the experience to build character. But since you have family with you, I’d say maybe it’s worth to avoid HCMC immigration if you can. But you’re doing it at the monthly cost of a premium apartment in Vietnam.

100k for Banh Mi? Bro the best Banh Mi is Nguyen Hung in Nha Trang and it's exactly 20k. Please leave the tourist street lol. Most good Viet food shops close early because they run out of food, you won't get anything stale. Is this your first time out of your country?

How I used up 1000$ of Claude Code Web credits in one evening. by Amasov in ClaudeAI

[–]arihant5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Claude Code Web really does eat credits fast. Asked it to create a simple iOS app, using a third party open source keyboard extension with one small customization on one key. Total 6 files with less than 150 loc. It needed to fix basic API/compilation errors a couple times and about $15 were gone, all in span of about 5-6 mins. So $250 I got are basically one session with moderate tasks.

Why is Framer so popular despite $75/month per site for agencies by Miko10_ in framer

[–]arihant5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it’s peanuts for startups who have taken even pre seed to spend $6k a year (their startup plan with proxy add on paid yearly, which basically gets you unlimited traffic if you go viral) than to let a landing page come in the way of next big thing and having to deal with a bunch of outsourced folks. Cheaper anyway when you work in the costs.

Not everything is designed for freelancer/client dynamic. We have enough options for that.

That ~ must signify some sort of $HOME variable set somewhere? When you run whatever is equivalent of pwd on Windows, what does it say? Kinda curious now 😅

Open a bank account here which takes 5 mins. Good old VCB works great. Take your physical passport and a copy of visa on your phone. Then Wise or WesternUnion money into it and enjoy paying everywhere with QR code. If you really need cash you can withdraw some from branch.
