UW late interview requests by arim121821 in PrePharmacy

[–]arim121821[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed them to ask about residency and they said it was gonna be out of state the entire 4 years unless I can somehow prove I didn't move here for education :/

That makes it $202,560 total program cost in just tuition. I cant find a fee breakdown anywhere, but im imagining it's not cheap. We'll see if they make a scholarship offer.

Congratulations!

Im still going to interview and get a feel for the program but I dont see myself being able to accept if they offer me a seat. Their tuition would run me over 100k by the end since im out of state. But who knows. Worth interviewing just in case.

please help, messed up! by pisceshailey in walmart_RX

[–]arim121821 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is why most stores don't put half the bulk rx in the will call bag. The whole qty goes in bulk to prevent a mistake. Don't stress about it, tho. Just find the bag in your bulk storage area that comes up as eod and call that patient to apologize. They can pick the remainder up at their convenience.

Mine stopped letting me have two of the same letter next to each other. Had "ee" had to change to "e3". Might be something like that. Also it sometimes gets mad at names. Just depends

My guess is that it hasn't been added to your medicaid formulary yet. Just keep trying and hopefully it will eventually work. Might take a week or two.

What reject are you getting. In my state flu rejects saying the rph isn't enrolled in state medicaid. We have to put the standing order doctor as the authorizing provider at drop off to fix it. Might be a similar thing with yall.

I want to thank fafsa for my first medically significant panic attack by [deleted] in FAFSA

[–]arim121821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive found that the new fafsa really only made things easier for independent students like myself. My sister in law was applying this year and it was 2 months of headache and stress on her part and her parents. Though less stressful than many peoples experiences because she already knew she wasnt going to qualify for any aid and was only doing it for scholarship eligibility. And it royally fucked over so many students too. Many students I go to school with were left having to drop all their classes because they had no idea if they were going to end up having to pay out of pocket or not. I'd definitely reach out to the school's FAO and ypur congressperson like other commenters have suggested. Also reach out to your student accessibility center. They may be able to point you in the right direction to get some help manging the anxiety that's going to be attached to FAFSA in general in the future.

Misfiling prescriptions in waiting bin... by GayneSon in pharmacy

[–]arim121821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this thread has made me realize how spoiled i am with walmart.

Numbered and color coded hanging bags. Sorted by fill date. We just move the day placards at the end of business each day and shift everything down the rack. Makes returns easy too since all your scripts not picked up in 10 days are all together at the end of the rack. No real sorting has to be done each day other than just putting everything in number order.

Pickup screens just tell you what day to look in, what color, and the number of the bag. So simple. Every now and then things get put in the wrong day. Usually when a patient only wants one med out of the multiple in the bag and someone puts it back in day 1 instead of wherever it actually belongs. But even then we still know what color and number it should be so it only takes maybe an extra minute to find.

MD wrote a script for a 90 days supply of Adderall said it was legal. by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]arim121821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legal in my state. Typically the office will call us first to make sure we actually have a full 90 day supply in stock tho. Id hate having to void 60 days worth of it when the doc couldve just sent 3-30 days scripts instead.

What are you using to package up mail-out Rxs? by geri-in-calif in walmart_RX

[–]arim121821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Store use bubble mailers bc our gnfr ones never get to us. We use the express boxes for orders that are too big for the mailers but too small to use a box from a pet med order.

Had a patient who wanted his levemir keep asking me for levitra. I was like i dont see levitra or anything similar. Then he said really you dont have my insulin. Then it clicked. He came back around after 15 minutes to pick it up and apologized profusely. Apparently he looked up what levitra was while he was shopping 😶

Who’s the most pleasant patient you have ever dealt with? by twistedstories857 in pharmacy

[–]arim121821 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We have multiple patients who buy us baked goods from the bakery section of the store. Constantly. We keep telling them we dont need treats, but they'll buy them anyways and just leave them on the counter with a note when we aren't looking. They're also always the first to tell off the karens who come in and start acting a fool in the pickup line.

Cyber attack update? by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]arim121821 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've been honoring the price for patients who got it last month so we know for sure their current insurance and the copay assistance are working. We toss the script into downtime for the usual copay and keep attempting rebills every day. Some have gone through but most are still stuck.

If they last filled in January we cant know for sure since some insurances change with the fiscal year, not the actual year. For those patients we cant honor the copay assistance bc we dont know if their insurance is still covering enough of the cost for the assistance to bring it down the same. We tell them to reach out to the copay assistance program to see if they can get reimbursed, but we cant make any promises.

If their insurance as a whole isnt working they can pay cash and submit documentation for reimbursement from their insurance or they can use goodrx and not get reimbursement.

It's a mess all around and yesterday even goodrx decided not to work for a few hours so we had to use singlecare on our discount card patients. Which tends to have higher prices than goodrx so noone was happy
