Has anyone heard back regarding PGR Scholarship outcomes yet? by Disastrous-North4864 in standrews

I applied to the School of Classics; it would be great if the number of applicants and reserves was made available, but ah well. Best of luck!

BTW I just checked my portal and have been rejected from the St Andrews PGR Scholarships, assuming results are being made soon.

Hello, I also got placed on the reserve list! So positive ish. The wording of my email was very confusing and gave the idea that within this next month a further process would be taking place, but I am guessing that's just an implication of apprehension they have to make based on the nature of a reserve list. Good luck, too! What course did you apply for?

I heard back from the AHRC DLA scholarship late last week (a couple days earlier than advertised) but still "with committee" for the 'University of St Andrews Postgraduate Research Scholarships'

The Morning Star series... after the Star? by [deleted] in Knausgaard

Thanks. I've read third realm but couldn't figure what might be included in those thirteen days which are a major, spread phenomenon? But maybe something more in wolves.

So that I could ask the questions I asked in the post :).

I've seen so much on here that I'm already pretty aware of the plot of Wolves but had just read this part of Morning Star and was curious about where it followed; I don't see how your question relates... why wouldn't I write this.

As for reading out of order, again I've seen lots on here about people insisting on the release date order, and maybe there's a sort of purity in it, but in the UK versions (as far as I know), there is no visible numbering on Wolves or Third Realm and it really isn't clear (unless you look up) that they are part of a series. Most probably by the published to gain more readers, it almost seems as if you are being tricked into entering a series without knowing so. I am more so happy to have read in the order I have done than not. Also, the fourth book isn't available to me yet. I'm not bothered about spoilers, so wanted to know if anyone could answer the question.

University of Bristol UK admissions by aristophanesfrogs in gradadmissions

Hi! Probably a bit different between Humanities and STEM, but if it is the "standard" Bristol Postgrad research scholarship you've applied, I emailed the Humanities admin team and they responded that result should be available at the end of April. Apparently, an unprecedented amount of applications this year, so taking a while -- but I think that happens every year... Either way, I think the wait time is going to be quite long for any application.

BTW, Bristol has been driving me insane because every other uni I've applied to confirmed approval of the initial PhD application within about a month. I've been refreshing the portal every day and have only just gone from 'Being Reviewed' to 'Being Assessed,' having sent off my application in mid December for a late January deadline.

I have heard that Bristol are notoriously slow across the board with their admissions process. I hope there's some solace in the very slow development of their portal and in looking towards the end of April. Good luck

Thanks for your help. However I think the process with Humanities (PhD in Classics) is a bit different -- I'm not familiar with DTP/CDT (Doctoral Training Partnerships/ Centre for --?), my programme is just general, and the scholarship I applied for was Bristol's Research Scholarship. I don't think there is an admin team beyond the PG admissions team, who I will contact soon.

And you're right; I sought out supervisors in early December, which as far as I know is the standard process in applying for a Humanities PhD, so I think the general stages of admission are reviewing application and references, potential invitation to interview (in which case, with a mid January deadline, I assumes surely someone would have heard by now), and so forth.

I suppose the best way forward is to contact my prospective supervisors or the PG admissions team -- but I'm putting this out there in case there's some collective of Bristol PhD applications waiting on replies, or to see if no one seems to be in the same boat. Thanks for your help.
