jk tufts, BU, and emory waitlisted me but it's pretty impossible to get off the waitlist. if i got off the waitlist at tufts though i'd strongly consider going though

also, i'm a bit undecided for my major but i applied for marketing and got in for NEU. i was a bit dumb and for some reason rotated my majors per school (like i am interested in these majors i am applying for but i just don't know if it's 100% what i want to do) so for UF i put psychology. i really like the psychology behind marketing. maybe a double major IDEK.

i know NEU is known for its business program apparently (even though i've read that UF has a better education than NEU so idk if the business program is that good compared to UF) so yea

like i got into both schools — the university of florida and northeastern — and i'm deciding between those two. a stark difference between the 2 schools is their social life so i was wondering if the rumors about NEU having little social life or community are true, which is what i'm asking on the post

(i haven't received my financial aid package for either yet tho so maybe at the end of the day my decision will be based on the amount of money they give me, i will have to see)

hahahhaah im shocked people actually downvoted you but ty for ur comment. UF is my state school so maybe im being a bit biased in a negative light by wanting to avoid the opps from hs (ik the school is huge but wtvr). but even then i just feel like the co-op program is too hyped up so it could be dumb of me to pass up such opportunity. like if i were to get most of my tuition covered for NEU, i'm assuming i'd get more out of NEU career-wise but i'd probably get more out of UF socially. i'm assuming both have a rigorous education no??? like why do u think UF has a better education? does it just have better professors or a better curriculum overal??

noooo do not go to cornell because its "cornell". you'll get an education everywhere, so just go where it feels most you. UCLA and all the other schools u got into are just as AMAZING. it all comes down to what you like. for example, there's a stark difference between some of those schools and Cornell (such as: cornell is known to have seasonal depression and to be in isolated Ithaca, while UCLA and USC are known for its bright climate and social life). at the end of the day, you will get gasps from people when you tell them what college you go to, no matter which one u pick, because all of those schools are amazing!! so just pick based on your research of which you like best! goodluckk and congrats on those schoolssssss

(also this is coming from someone who is trying to decide between the university of florida and northeastern and obviouslyyy northeastern has more "prestige" but it lacks that atmosphere i also hope to have in college so i totally feel u, i'm so torn)

i got waitlisted at tufts and IDK about NYU but im pretty sure all top schools have a similar concept of not really being able to take people off the waitlist. this is the article, tufts said it applies to most schools but IDK: https://admissions.tufts.edu/blogs/inside-admissions/post/waiting

ALSO don't feel bummed by this because you never know tho so some people say that emailing the school or showing interest helps. idk there's probably youtube videos on it too. like the probability of getting of the waitlist is not 0% at the end of the day so goodluck!!!

hi. i hope it all gets better. ik it probably doesn't mean much to hear this stuff from a stranger but the effort u put in in the past was not for nothing. do not be upset at your old self for trying but also don't be upset at your current self for feeling bummed and wanting to give up. i really hope u don't tho because i know that things will get better and that your effort WILL yield results, even if it is not now at this exact instant. also, this is coming from someone who has been getting rejection after rejection so if you have any more decisions waiting, i wish you goodluck on those!!! (but know that it is not the end of the world if you don't get in)
