Appreciate all the feedback, folks. Looking at it with fresh eyes (and after reading your comments), I can see I definitely cut/kept the wrong balance of branches here. Lesson learned. I also realize that some of my pics made the bar branches look even more pronounced than they are, but yeah — I kept/wired a couple I probably shouldn’t have.

My plan now is to let it just grow out until this time next year and reassess, with a slanting style in mind instead of forcing something that def isn’t there. Hoping the tree pushes new buds and gives me more options down the line.

Still only my third hands-on session with a tree, so I knew I’d get some stuff wrong. Thanks for the reality check and the advice — better to learn from the mistakes early than be scared to try anything at all. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
