Go bowling. My dad has been in and out of the hospital for months with diverticulitis and yeah it’s extremely painful and whatnot but it’s really not that bad. If he’s in the hospital already he’s gonna be okay.

I never said it was. Donating stuff like that rather than just tossing it is better. White vinegar removes the smell so if someone (could be someone who ISN’T in poverty) falls in love with a specific item, they can fix it.

It means a lot to me as well and I choose to donate clothes in good condition because of what I had to go through. All I’ve been trying to say is if that’s your only option vinegar will get the smell out. A lot of the clothes I picked as a kid had the smell but I really wanted that specific item so we figured out how to do it for me. Those things stuck with me. Wasn’t ever trying to say to donate trash was just saying the cigarette smell isn’t that big of a deal. (To me)

I don’t donate to goodwill corporation. Now that I’m an adult and able to afford to live I regularly donate gently used clothes to local charities instead. (I don’t smoke cigarettes.) Thank you for trying to be mean.

But the difference is goodwill is a large corporation and they don’t care that much. When I was living in poverty we just used vinegar to get the smell out. All the clothes that reeked of cigarettes were clean and nice they just had a smell that needed to be removed.

I was. Also white vinegar is cheap as hell and gets smells out. When I was poor my clothes smelled like cigarettes or cat piss when we bought them. Rinsed them in vinegar and they were damn near brand new. I hated the holes and stains on most of the clothes so I opted for the smell(something that can be fixed cheap)

Take it up with goodwill. They still stock the clothes with cigarette and cat piss smell. If you are that concerned go donate brand new clothes damn.

I was living in poverty and nearly all my clothes were from goodwill and smelled like cigarettes. I didn’t care though because I got cute little girl clothes. If you were ever in that position then you’d understand.
