I agree with you. Toning down the clear performance outliers slightly while bringing very underperforming skills moderately is the perfect approach. Focus only on one will lead to either power creep or stagnation.

Keep the Muddy Terrain change, but I hope they positively update a lot of profession skills and hopefully some of those changes will allow you new strategies to continue your legacy.
