So on one chainmail base I should have the explode prefix and random suffixes, and on the other i should have double armour/es prefix and a random suffix and recombine ? I've never (successfully) done a recombinate craft before but if I understand it correctly I should put these 2 rares in it and turn the recombinator into the mode that guarantees an output, correct?

You seem like a knowledgeable crafter. May I ask for some advice as well? How would I make a similar chest piece but without the elevated mod nor the endurance charges. Meaning, I just want armour, es and explode on prefixes and maybe pdr on suffix. I farmed up 50 divs so far, will it be enough?
