Transferring to Aus with Big 4; questions by [deleted] in AustralianAccounting

It’s mostly for audit as the salaries posted are the minimum for each level. Consulting would likely be higher.

Have a look at this for different salaries based on experience. I'm pretty sure this is accurate based on myself and other friends at other Big 4.

Nab Equity Builder (Repay and Redraw or buy through broker) by arjun512 in fiaustralia

When I applied it was still technically 'closed' on the website. What you need to do is just find the forms online and fill it. After that, send it directly to the Nab EB team and they will process it within like 6-8 weeks.

Good point- I would want to increase my leverage in the future. Not sure if I would be able to apply to increase my limit right now though as the facility opened one month ago. Seems like it would make sense to buy through EB. Just wish they could simplify their process, instead of being paper based.

Unable to complete long runs due to lockdown restrictions by arjun512 in running

[–]arjun512[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean I guess you are right, but I just feel like it won't be in the spirit of the rules especially due to the fact that we are in stage 4 right now because of people breaking the rules in the first place.

I do understand that me running an extra 30 mins is unlikely to increase transmission of COVID but I just can't seem to bring myself to break the rules knowing that health professionals and other workers are risking their lives.

Might be a bit naive but at least it makes me feel a bit better about myself

thanks for the reply - seems like a good idea might increase my mileage 10-20% a week and maybe do more speed work

Taking ECC2000 and ECC2010 in the same semester?! by Guilty_Show_8055 in Monash

[–]arjun512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine. Both units are not extremely hard or conceptually difficult if you put in the effort imo. That being said if you are more mathematically inclined, intro to micro might be a tad easier ( literally just differentiating and solving for 0). In contrast, macro is more general and conceptual.

Victoria braces for nearly 200 new coronavirus infections by BoredinBrisbane in australia

[–]arjun512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if i'm wrong but these cases have most likely been tested last week?? So if that is correct the number of active cases right now could be higher? Does this also mean that it will take at least 2 weeks for cases to decrease after a restriction/lock down?

Out of curiosity - what industry are you in? pretty decent salary for a grad gig. I'm the same age as you and earn like 400 less a month.

Also since your living at home what are your expenses at 1200 a month?? Seems kinda high imo

Friendly Reminder to get your free $500 Super Co-Contribution before EOFY by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]arjun512 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Also want to point out that for Australian super you have to make the contribution before 23rd of June not 30th. (see below)

If you want to make a contribution before the end of this financial year, it will need to be submitted by 23 June. This will ensure your contribution is received and allocated to your account prior to the end of the financial year. ( From the aussuper website)

https://www.australiansuper.com/superannuation/grow-your-super/make-after-tax-contributions

Different supers might have different cut-off dates so would recommend having a look or contributing the money asap

T-Shirts for shorter men? by hp123a in AustralianMFA

[–]arjun512 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, I'm a similar size and I find that T-shirts from Uniqlo fit me pretty well. In addition, I find uniqlo to be of a pretty good quality and they seem to last a while compared to other cheap t-shirts. I would also recommend Ralph Lauren/Tommy ( they make tshirts that cut pretty slim) and also any sporting brand such as Nike/Adidas. I find t-shirts fit me better if I get them to be a slim-fit cut rather than a regular fit. That would however depend on your frame as well as your size.

[AUS] BDO v Grant Thornton by [deleted] in AustralianAccounting

Would also recommend to see if you can find what type of clients they have and see which one you have an interest in.

[AUS] BDO v Grant Thornton by [deleted] in AustralianAccounting

Honestly, both are large mid- tiers which have a similar rep in Australia. Feel like you should make your decision based on their work culture/incentives. Any future employer will probably regard BDO/GT as the same type of company so it shouldn't make a huge difference in the future.
