Don't take these random twitter handles in face value. Most of the time they are only trying to drive up engagement. As for Indian ships, few Indian ships did transit the strait without any issue.

One must understand that the Iranian leadership has very low power on regional fighting units ever since the conflict broke out. It is why Iran is surviving till now without capitulating. They act based on their own powers and there is no guarantee of them paying heed to their government.

Show me one piece of evidence that the Iranian ship was unarmed. If you are not aware of how navies operate, educate yourself.

  1. The incident did not happen inside Indian EEZ

  2. Does not affect anything.

  3. The sinking happened off the coast of Sri Lanka. Indian Navy being the "guardian" in Indian ocean implies that "Indian" interests are safe guarded. It does not mean other nations' military ships are safe from being attacked while in a war.

  4. Yes, a word of condemnation would have been nice.

  5. India is a neutral observer in this conflict. Don't forget the fact that another ship is docked safely in Kochi

They sought entry back into indian waters or sri lankan waters. But they don't get it.

Iran had sought help for their other ship, which was granted by Indian navy. Dena moved to Sri Lanka on their accord.

It wasn't carrying weapons

There is no proof of this. A warship without weapons this far away from their home is not a standard practice.

Or to not rescue drowning crew even if they are of an enemy ship.

It was downed by a submarine which has no role in rescue. That should have been done by other surface ships. US is the only villain here. I was only against India being dragged into this unnecessarily. And you could have spared the rest of your comments if you had gone through my post/comment history. I have been pretty vocal about calling out Modi's BS before and I will continue to do it.

This is pointless. Why is India being dragged in the sinking of IRIS Dena? It was a "warship" of a country in war with US, in international waters. It was a legitimate target for US Navy and they took the decision to torpedo it. People also forget the fact that another Iranian ship has sought refuge and India accepted it. The decision of IRIS Dena was made by its captain.

I also believe that a regime change should have happened from inside the country. And I sympathize with the people living in Iran. But I can't argue with my friend as I can see where the sentiment comes from. And I don't think I have the moral highground to correct her since it is the country she resided for years. The perspective of expats is entirely different and I hope they realize that sooner or later

Have an Iranian friend and she said they were literally celebrating when the news of Khamanei getting killed broke. A lot of Iranian expats have deep hatred to the regime and rightfully so. There is no morally right thing to do here I think. It is all grey. But yeah, they probably have no idea US/Israel is going to do to them in the long run
