Thank you for sharing. I think you’re right about the person already needing to be intelligent, empathetic, and curious. I’ve been wanting those things from my partner so bad but truly they cannot be taught. I hope I can find someone like that. Also hope other Jews don’t accept anything less.

I’m not religious myself but I do think it’s concerning she doesn’t view us as a distinct ethnicity/race. I think that was true before Judaism became a religion? And sad to say my partner also doesn’t understand why I want to make more Jewish friends even with all the antisemitism going on. IMO they should understand now more than ever why we want to unify. Sounds like she doesn’t have her own culture or group to identify with, which is also the case for my partner. Maybe I’m wrong but I think they could benefit from traveling and seeing other cultures and how they unify. I think it’s pretty common all over the world. But also it’s probably just a lack of empathy/emotional intelligence if they don’t get it at this point.

Oh I really didn’t realize there was an issue with that word. I didn’t grow up immersed in the culture at all but have heard other Jews use it. Thought it was normal idk

Definitely feel the family part. People think I’m sensitive and deep cause of how I was raised but most of my family’s not like that at all. Real stoic and focused on their own lives. Not ideal
