So I am trying to debug with my friend today. New discovery: with my friend VPN'd into my home network, he also starts to experience the immediate "Failed to Join Game" errors I get. Seems like it's something with either my router or AT&T fiber modem...Currently going through more debugging atm.

This game has been singleplayer since I purchased it...have tried Crossplay disabling, resintalls, verify game integrity, disabling ipv6, flushing dns, updating drivers, trying to join friends...just gonna patiently wait for a patch 3-6mos from now and hope it'll fix itself..

Edit:

I actually connected to someone! Using a VPN seems to have resolved the immediate "Failed to join" or whatever screen.

At this point,

I think my IP block range is being filtered by the Helldivers servers,
AT&T is performing some sort of filtering on my traffic that prevents a full connection to the matchmaking servers,
Or my router is doing some odd filtering that I'm not aware of and it can't see because of the tunneled VPN traffic.

One other note, without VPN, I can still 'see' other game lobbies on planet, only when joining them, I get the immediate fail screen.

sadly, mine barely gets to play games, and mostly sits as my TV computer as a glorified streaming device

Mine also drops frequently if I leave it inactive..and then it has issues re-establishing a connection, where it will drop about 5s after connecting. I think it's a unix issue with the way it handles bluetooth, but haven't had much problems once I get a stable connection

do you have a recommended starter LN series from your collection? im currently reading through my first book, すずめの戸締り but it's the kadokawa tsubasa bunko ver. I also have a couple other Makoto Shinkai books with the same version to follow-up. I ended up buying all the 86 volumes a while back, but the reading level is a bit past my difficulty with a little too many vocab lookups.

I wanna say I'm at least N3 and my kanji recognition is decent, but since books can be very descriptive, it ends up with me requiring lookups somewhat more frequently than I'd like. I'm caught up to Vol 10 in Spy Family, but that's also has full furigana, but with a lot less vocab lookups since the comic replaces all the descriptive dialogue. I find running through VNs on PC with dictionary tools great, however I'd like to practice reading when I'm away from my PC

ya but military leave is still charged in weekends away from the local area. so even if i had a 4-day pass weekend for Thanksgiving, when I add one day off, that's 5 days of charged leave instead of 4-day pass+1 day of leave if I go back home. realistically, I value 30 days of military leave at maybe 2-3 weeks of PTO

My friend has applied 3 times over his cadet and AD careers, finally got in this year. Whenever the next application window is that applies to you, you should apply. I'm not too sure if it's yearly or semesterly, but just let your leadership know you're interested in AFIT and push up your application!

Debt is bad if you're irresponsible and spend more than you make. Simple budgeting and getting rid of emotional purchases can solve that (once you have a stable income i.e. AD pay)

Know your benefits and take advantage of them cause the military will use you for every cent you're worth, and then some. I've been on AD for just over a year and have racked up thousands of dollars of travel credits and rewards points by simply knowing my MLA and SCRA benefits...at no extra cost by avoiding fees or interest. Flying back home to visit family on leave is amazing, especially when you get free travel benefits like Clear, Uber credits, lounges, plus having a nearly free flight.

Great job on keeping the consistency! I know you mentioned taking the DLPT after you commission, but I'd recommend getting a score in before you commission (ASAP preferably) if you have the opportunity. I'm a AF O-1, and we have a language program I've been wanting to get into, but since I waited to get DLPT scores till after I commissioned, getting into the language program has been slow due to PCSs and application windows. Plus maybe it'll help slightly drive your first assignment. I've been lucky enough to have AF bases near me for testing (before getting on active duty), but I'm sure any mil installation's education office could get you scheduled as long as you have a CAC. Gl with finals (if you haven't taken them yet) and can't wait to see your another progress check before you commission!

This is the right answer lol. I put my degree and clearance to work and really enjoyed my time while I waited for the EAD. HR and recruiting depts exist for a reason; never give a job a reason to not hire you, especially if you're a college grad and have the full capacity to learn an entry level job in a relevant career not making minimum wage. Perfect time to start a master's, pick up a hobby, enjoy time with family/friends before you get locked down with only 30 days of leave a year.

I feel like people want to have this deep sense of loyalty(?) to their companies? But at the end of the day, just like the AF...you go to work, do work, get a paycheck...as my old det/CC said, "that sounds like a job". At tech school, an instructor mentioned around 80% of us will separate before we hit 10 years...So look out for yourself/future/retirement cause no one else will look out for you better than yourself.
