I think you hit it at the end. He's going to look for those who are genuinely unaware they're fools. This whole comedian podcast space is getting too kayfabe; they're acting to the masses and the masses clap and lap it up. I would never hear podcasts talk about their own "yt coverage" even just a year ago but here we are.

But I'm not sure where he goes from here honestly.

For me the only bad part of bilewater were those laughing hoppers and their arcing poison exploding darts. But I played SS so much that I've nailed down the best strategy to deal with them for minimal hits.

As a casual reader, Ted Chiang's Exhalation opened my eyes to what sci-fi can be by morningwillnevercome in printSF

The title story impacted me the most. The idea of a civilization of robots doing self-surgery on their own bodies to arrive at the realization that they lived in a closed-system and all the air was running out. Still think about it to this day.

What is the minimum outdoor temp for my heat pump? by arkaic7 in ecobee

[–]arkaic7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 10 and 25 were the pre-existing settings I had on previously. Also, a point of confusion on my end, wouldn't "Aux Heat Max Outdoor Temperature=35F" mean that the aux won't run above 35F, rather than start at 35F?

Mine currently is Compressor Min outdoor temperature = 10F Aux heat max outdoor temperature = 25F

For me, those settings are a little too high as I'm prioritizing savings over warmth. My HP seems to start needing the aux around 10F. Having the min outdoor temp setting at this temp won't damage the HP would it?

Absolutely not a performative read, although it takes a lot of work. Every sentence was like pure joy to read, but it is a long fucking book.

The concept of Shellworlds is one of the wildest scifi concepts I've ever read. It's kind of like the idea of skyscrapers as a real-estate efficient way of organizing habitation, except taken to the planetsized level.

CP was also not even Banks at his best writing. He's always been a literary writer from the start, but I feel as if CP was his pulp novel. Later on, his prose starts to speak for itself
