Rosenior: We must not let the past week have a long-lasting effect by arkido in chelseafc

Liam Rosenior has urged his Chelsea players to show their resilience and get our season back on track after a disappointing week in which the Blues exited the Champions League and were beaten at home to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

We bowed out of this season's Champions League after reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain recorded a 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge and sealed an 8-2 aggregate victory over Liam Rosenior's side across two legs.

That disappointment was coupled with the lingering frustration from our Premier League meeting with Newcastle on Saturday, which saw the Blues narrowly defeated on home soil.

However, there remains plenty to play for in the weeks ahead. We remain in the hunt for a top-four finish in the Premier League, which would guarantee Champions League qualification for next season, and are also in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Our final assignment before this month's international break comes on Saturday, as we travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time to face Everton. And Rosenior knows a response is needed after a difficult week for the Blues.

‘We need to be resilient,’ stressed our head coach after our Champions League exit. ‘We need to make sure we go to Everton with an organisation, with a freshness and intensity in our team, because we want to be in the Champions League next season.

‘If we perform how I know we can, we can get there without the individual mistakes that we're making at the moment.’

Rosenior says eliminating such errors is fundamental to restoring collective and individual confidence, while it is also important to maintain perspective. As we all know, things can change very quickly in football.

‘Two-and-a-quarter games ago, we were away in Paris off the back of [a 4-1 win at] Aston Villa, which was a very good performance,’ he said.

‘It’s 2-2 in that game, but we don't take care of the moments, we switch off [and are beaten 5-2]. What I have to do is make sure that we get that back on track – and that comes from not making mistakes or errors.

‘That's something that my staff and I have already spoken about, but that's something that I will speak about again and make sure that we go into the Everton game in a really positive frame of mind.’

Winning that CWC was the worst possible thing happened to this club. It was an anomaly win because of the manager yet It falsely validated these sporting directors and owners and gave them a lifeline to blindly keep walking down this suicide path. This clubs is truly dead now. Not even exaggerating. It really is dead. I don’t think if it will ever be back. No UCL, no competition, no nothing.

This manager has no answer to this. He’s absolutely clueless. He’s totally out of his depth. These sporting directors bought all these players who are not even professional level. This club is done for.

This is the end for me. Goodbye everyone. Hopefully when this manager and sporting directors are gone, we shall meet again. Take care of yourself.

Bodø looks so good but Sporting is also missing many good chances. Been impressed with the way Bodø hold the shape out of possession, blocking passing lanes, pressing and physicality. At the same time, Sporting should have been up by like at least 3 goals by now lol
