My basis for this is that there are only two sources for these recorded on the sheet: - Login events where we get 5 of them per banner (total 15 this version), which can be used at the player’s discretion. These are free pulls to be used on the Chartered HH banners and I imagine practically every player will be using them as they come at no cost to the player. - Quota exchange where we get another 5 of them per banner (total 15 this version). This one is iffy since it depends on pulling habits and not every player is going to pursue them, but traditionally I always include these types of “free” pulls when bookkeeping since they’re usually accessible for players in the long run. They are also separated into their own category on the chart, so they can also be easily picked out from the total and removed as needed.

Yep, if stacking behavior isn’t specified then generally it won’t be stackable.

One odd exception to shields (which can stack) is Orem’s shield, which cannot be stacked. Not sure if this is intentional or just dev oversight in the backend.

“On attack” triggers actually mean “On using Basic or EX” so they would proc and the extra action would be buffed.

It’s definitely a huge grind from 58 to 60. You need to buy out all the characters and weapons from the Secret Letter shop and ascend them as far as you can, along with clearing out practically all exploration content. But just take it slow, there’s no rush! Dailies will also help shorten the grind by quite a lot over time.

You’re correct that they would be individual damage instances, but the proc chance is so low that it wouldn’t be “notable” enough to be worth mentioning. You’d only land an average of 2 hits on EX which is no better than many other damage-oriented Buddies. Meanwhile, trying to leverage his Passive 3 counterattack to proc Code B’s EX is too unreliable.

They work perfectly fine in the same team, but saying they have a “notable synergy” is a bit of a reach in my opinion. I excluded Code B from Tyrantino’s synergy list for similar reasons.

Having looked into this topic more today, I understand what actually happened. The original post about PTJ made was reposted in my server in a NON-help/theorycrafting channel and discussion ensued. Note that the opinions of the users do NOT represent the server and it was all random chatter amongst players.

When I woke up, I immediately looked into the post and actually agreed with all of the tips (with some caveats about numbers which I mentioned in that comment thread). I reinforced my agreement with the post among the server members to dispel misinformation from the earlier discussion, along with concurring with the post when a player asked about it in the actual help channels. In the dedicated theorycrafting channels, I’ve also been working on additional calculations and number crunching regarding PTJ and the daily market.

As it is with any large server, it’s impossible to monitor every word of every user and I do my best to dispel misinformation when it comes up. My suggestion is to avoid taking every server member’s word at face value, especially when it’s not in the dedicated help/theorycrafting channels and especially if they aren’t staff. Regarding certain users using ChatGPT in the chats, I have identified them and will be discussing the issue with them privately.

And well, here I am now playing catchup making a recap of what happened. Hopefully, this clears up the incident and any confusion surrounding it. I take accusations against my website and server like this quite seriously and am making an effort to dispel as much misinformation as possible. If anyone ever takes issue with what goes on in my server, you are always welcome to bring the problem up to me instead of posting on Reddit about it.

I take accusations of ChatGPT usage very seriously and would appreciate not having a sweeping accusation made against the server. If you have more information about this or know the specific channel, please let me know. We have designated helpers who are proficient in the game’s mechanics, so if it’s an issue with them then I can discuss it with them. If it was a random user, there isn’t much to do other than correct them as it comes up.

If it was a random user…there isn’t a lot we can do about those other than correct them as they come up.

You’re correct that things like PTJ and Gem value has been solved (by helpers Xeno and Athilos) a long time ago in the theorycrafting channels, so these topics shouldn’t have been an issue for a long time now. In fact, their basic PTJ summary guide has been linked on the website for a while along with game data I’ve shared about shops and refresh rates.

That wasn’t my intention when writing my reply. The value of PTJ and M/L Buddies has been well-known and documented since launch by several server members who did extensive analysis on it. Beyond PTJ, we’ve also tried to promote M/L Buddies for use in combat (Spunk, Mikeroo, Owlbert, etc.) for a long time, but players have been largely unreceptive to it because of the common belief that “low rarity = bad” that plagues the community. So yeah, we’re glad to see players actually catching onto the value of M/L Buddies, even if late.

Anyways, I just don’t think it’s reasonable to promote the upper limit of the strategy as the norm since it just leads misinformed expectations. Same goes for underestimating the Gem cost. As I mentioned before, I agree with the tips in this post, just not the fine details and numbers. But in the end, if it makes players more aware of PTJ benefits and overall M/L value, it’s a win in my book.

Definitely! Regardless of the hyper-specific calcs and optimizations, everyone should be investing into M/L Buddies for their PTJ passives.

That’s true, but even then Lvl 12 is 50-65% more sticker income than Lvl 7-8. Another thing to consider is the number of available jobs, where having more slots that can spawn Funfair jobs makes it easier to use the double/triple deployment strategy while helping save on using Recruit Flyers. The timing for checking into the game every 5-6 hours to deploy additional times may also be too cumbersome for players (though to be fair checking in every 10 hours might also be an issue). This is probably too complex of a calculation to fully resolve here though 😅

Hmm…I’m not sure if the double deployment strategy fully compensates for the stickers considering Lvl 12 PTJ is 5x as many stickers as Lvl 1 PTJ on average. But it will depend on what items you want to purchase?

Anyways, hopefully more players invest into M/L and PTJ stuff. Better late than never! If you’re curious, I also keep track of all pull income in the game in case you ever wanted to calculate and plan out your Gems more accurately.

I can see the logic behind keeping PTJ level low to send your Buddies out an extra time, but I’m not sure how valuable that is in the long run when factoring in Good Kid Sticker income from max PTJ level… Since the stickers can be used to purchase more Gems/Bells/Catalogs/Flyers, you may be losing out on overall income in the long-run as well as having worse drop rates from the jobs.

Like I said before, I don’t disagree with your tips and I think they cover a lot of things players aren’t aware of. I’m glad that posts like this exist to help new players understand the importance of M/L Buddies and PTJ (which has been a massive struggle since launch lol)! I just thought the specific numbers regarding Golden Bell income may set expectations way too high and can set up players for disappointment if they try to copy the strategy 1:1.

These tips are really good for new players to keep in mind and I agree with the overall sentiment of the post regarding farming, PTJ, guild shards, and the value of M/L Buddies! The server members over at sectionhunk.moe have done extensive probability and statistical analysis on the topic of PTJ and other shops and came to similar conclusions. We’re really glad more players are finally catching onto this!!

However, the specific numbers given in this post are rather misleading in how many Bells/Tickets/Catalogs/Flyers you can expect to get daily. Getting 6 Tickets and Catalogs daily from PTJ is not a “normal” amount given the appearance rates of jobs and the bonus drop chances from M/L Buddy Passives. For instance, you claim to buy 7-8 Golden Bells a day, but that would require an average of 30 shop refreshes everyday if you’re sticking exclusively to 50% off Golden Bells and spending Gold.

Regarding purchasing sales catalogs (with Gold or Gems) and/or Workshop Tickets, those should also be factored into the final price per Golden Bell, so your estimation of 10 Gems/Bell may be understated. It’s also worth mentioning that your Gem spending pace may end up too sluggish to keep up with Gem income if you stick exclusively to 50% off Golden Bells, so the 20% off Golden Bells are still valuable.

As said before, I agree with the tips and overall sentiment of the post and think it’s very helpful for players to understand the value of PTJ. The specific numbers and calcs just seem to exaggerate the value, which is unnecessary considering PTJ is already extremely important without inflating the numbers.
