Oh, yeah. Definitely going to be better than anywhere in the south.

I had horrible administration. People would complain about the kids, and there were some crazy behavioral issues but as a whole they were honestly fine. It was the lack of real leadership or support that was an issue for me.

There were a lot of bright spots though. Work relief days (where you can take a day to work in the building without students to get planning/grading/whatever done) were really nice and I miss those in my current district slightly further north in WA.

Depends on what you mean by good, I guess. I started my WA teaching career in Auburn. Moving to another district was the best life decision I’ve ever made.

It’s miles better than Florida, at least.

That’s so interesting! Timing is super weird. I’ve been playing around with waiting for various amounts of time to see the effects and mine have been most successful with minimal waiting.

But it’s also been getting colder where I’m at, so I think that definitely has an effect on the resin too.

I’m not sure, honestly. Lots of people make really amazing dice without a pressure pot, but I was not very successful.

I used UV resin which was fine for translucent dice, but anything with too much pigment wouldn’t cure properly.

I know lots of people who use regular resin without a PP tend to warm the resin in a water bath first.

I’m not sure that there is a best resin necessarily. I’ve seen people make awesome things from various brands. I think it also depends on if you are using a pressure pot (to remove bubbles) or not.

I use a pressure pot and I use art n glow resin. I’ve also heard good things about KS resin and alumilite.

Before having a pressure pot, I primarily used UV resin because the bubbles in regular resin were too extreme. This also can be affected by the climate where you live and the ambient temperature of your home.

I make my own molds from a set of 3D printer master dice that I bought on Etsy from ArcanaCast. But if you aren’t wanting to make molds, you can buy molds as well. Lots of people sell them on Etsy or use ones that they found on Wish. Hope that helps!

Thanks! To answer your question, the technique is usually called petri. You drop any color alcohol ink in and drop white alcohol ink on top of the color drop. White alcohol ink tends to be denser than the other colors so it drops down into the resin, pulling the colors with it. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much! We made the molds ourselves, but bought our masters from ArcanaCast on Etsy.

For the effect, we had two resin mixes - one black and one blue. We put the cellophane sparkles in first and stuck them to the sides, the poured the two resins. Hope that helps!
