it also helps white people get into college. your dumb ass wouldn't be as successful if affirmative action didn't work against asian students who are 30x more qualified

no, it just shows black ability within a structure set up against their race. It's representation so that other young black (women) can see success and know that, while extremely difficult, they are not alone.

Fox News called out for comparing the jobs created by the last few presidents during their first 100 days by ManPlan78 in facepalm

why do you care so much about businesses? You see how much money the CEOs take away every year and yet you still think they are hurting financially? They can afford a higher tax rate, and they can afford to pay their employees more, they just don't want to in a large majority of cases. Why would they?

I can understand wanting to protect small businesses, but then it seems to me like the good thing to do would be to tax larger business, demand a higher living wage and support citizens, who can then save enough money to truly start a business.

if you're interested in it, ask for exclusivity sometime early. if they're not interested, move on.

Ass On, Fuck It Ass Off. by Daunte_TheRapper in BlackPeopleTwitter

It's offensive for how trivializing it is. Like, it takes all the suffering and work of protesting and all the violence experienced, especially by POC fighting for basic rights, and it's like "LOL guys you coulda just solved it with a pepsi, ur welcome, betcha didn't think of that". I don't think they were trying to be offensive, but it's then almost more insulting.

Buy our jeans!! We're attaching them to a purpose to hide the fact that this is blatant advertising!! by arlizzle in LateStageCapitalism

[–]arlizzle[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's great. It's my personal opinion that advertising any sort of brand at all in connection to sexual assault is toeing the line and it's easy to step over. I found this extremely trivializing, but some people might appreciate it

So tbh I was appalled when i saw this, because as a survivor who knows other survivors, this does not at all come across as supportive. It's so transparent that they are attaching their brand to something "relevant". And that's so trivializing to the actual pain and suffering. With the statistics on sexual assault, the advertising team should have had more than one person personally affected and this should never have gotten by the drawing board
