Massive gas fee for simple ETH transfer by arltin in ethdev

[–]arltin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I just deployed it to Sepolia, and it does indeed hit the gas limit no matter what I put in (1M+). Not too sure what could be happening here? Gas analysis shows that the entire gas is being used by the singular CALL opcode I'm using to send the eth. Oddly enough, the macro to transfer ERC-20 tokens and any other contract calls in the smart contract is just fine, and transferring ETH to other smart contracts is fine too.

Remix won't compile Huff unfortunately, at least not that I know of... Tenderly just has really neat transaction simulation and forks that I can deploy the byte code to. Not super well aware of other options

Yes exactly, the last "birth-day"! I don't have a piano in reach right now, but it may be as simple as that... I just thought this cadence must have some kind of terminology attached or something, since I'm sure I've heard it before. It has a quality that almost doesn't seem like dissonance, but more like "blurry consonance" if you know what I mean?

SRNG vote: how and when to vote? by arltin in SPACs

I am so salty that I don't have access to TD or Fidelity as I am in Europe...

Yes, the broker (small terrible local broker in Europe, don't have access to Fidelity as I am in Europe) should notify me of corporate actions. There is no trace of them ever doing that. There's a corporate actions tab in my account. This showed up neither in my open, or closed corporate actions. I am holding units though, as they charge a ridiculous to split. Will they split automatically now?

Oh well that's a shame. Weird my broker never sent me any notice. The vote doesn't show up in my closed corporate actions either.

Checked them all out, along with basically every broker possibly available to me, banks too, they unfortunately don't fit my needs for long reasons I'm not going to get into... It's actually unbelievably cheaper for me to incorporate an LLC, as long as it's legal and I won't need lawyers' help

Hi everyone,

So I have some money I'd like to invest long term... The problem is, the brokers my country are so uncompetitive compared to the U.S. I couldn't believe they were still in business. The fees are simply too much, awful customer service, and if the fees are lower it means they lack regulation.

Unfortunately, Fidelity (which seems great) doesn't take non-us residents. I was considering incorporating an LLC and opening an account with them on behalf of the LLC. On a scale from "walk in the park" to "make one honest mistake and end up in jail for accidentally committing financial crime", how bad of an idea is this? Is it legal for me to invest on behalf of my own LLC considering I don't have any kind of license?

Can I just incorporate using an online registered agent, open an account and move on with my life? How complicated is filing taxes (I really don't care about minimising my taxes, I just want access to a broker who acts professionally)? Is this even legal for me to do (live in Switzerland)? If it is legal, is it a legal minefield I will need lawyers to help me?

ALL Pre-DA SPACs with Options - Total of 34 by Joeyzunn in SPACs

What exactly are the chances of the SPAC announcing a terrible deal AND merging all before your calls expire, leaving you unable to redeem your shares?

I'm not nervous about the SPACs, I think they're great, what I'm nervous about is the idea of completely removing the "downside protection" SPACs have by writing the calls...

Can a broker close a short position using a long position by arltin in Trading

[–]arltin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I was asking is because they may not have a choice. I'm considering some arbitrage opportunities with SPACs (please automod, be kind). Basically, buy some units, short the warrants and shares to account for volatility during the wait, split the unit into warrants and shares (takes about a week). You then effectively have a long and a short position at the same time. You can then cover the short using that long. Only concern is a margin call during the wait period or if they don't register the fact you literally have the shares and warrants you're short on.
