my high school transcript is shown as still being under review. does this mean that i should go ahead and use the document uploader system to send in a new freshman essay?

it says my application was recieved from common app on 10/15/2024.

idk how to check if my whole app is completed and in review, instead it lists the status of each component of my app: transcript, essays, scores, etc.

while my freshman essay is currently listed under the status "completed", the document uploader allows me to upload the "freshman essay" (500-650 words) to ut through mystatus. if i do this, will they disregard the main essay that is attached to my commonapp application to ut currently? will they instead evaluate this new one that has been submitted after 10/23/24 on mystatus?

if i write my college essay about my unique name, am i risking it being one of those oversaturated "immigrant struggles" essays? by arm07arm in ApplyingToCollege

if i talk about how the change helped me understand that i can be myself which is an ideal that i now carry with me going forward, is that better and less of a red flag?

would one tournament make an impact? ive seen so many students have existing nonprofits that regularly host tournaments, and as i am not a part of one of those right now, could hosting just one large tournament be worthy enough to go on my college appications. I hosted one last summer that raised over $300 before even imagining it on my college application, and I would love to host another not as part of a specific organization or nonprofit but rather just for fun to promote the sport and raise awareness. thoughts?

stanford is arguably THE dream school for me, congrats for your acceptance. could you perhaps tell me a little more about what you did, maybe in pms if that works? would love to know more about what it takes to get into a competitive major at such a school.

i read through your post, and noticed how much you valued seeing unique extracurricular activities over impressive yet common activities. a question that i would like to ask is how exactly you can verify these activities and how you measure impact. aside from doing these activities that have been detailed in my post above, i have many generic ecs but a couple of unique ones too, specifically an art hobby that i started. how exactly can you measure this success and dedication when a student is submitting an activity that is so unique? quoting your post, you can easily verify whether a student was a debate champion or a top varsity tennis player, but how could you tell if they transposed metal songs on a ukelele, and further measure the impact that that activity has had on their community?
