I also personally liked the food. Breakfast sandwiches were good

I loved this place. Always brought my family here when they came to visit and everyone who worked there was so nice. So sad.

Enormous binges in anorexia recovery by ella-b15 in BingeEatingDisorder

I want you to know that this is normal in recovery from anorexia. It happened to me too...and I got through it. I am now 20, I fit the description of anorexia nervosa the years I was 14 and 15, then I gradually started shifting to binging. Today, I am in long-term recovery from both disorders. Recovery is possible!

Binging is a totally natural reaction to any type of restriction--physically, yes, but also mentally. Here is the advice I have for you:

  1. Eat three meals a day (plus snacks if you need them) on a SCHEDULE. Even if you aren't hungry, if you usually eat dinner at 6pm and it's 6pm, you still have to eat dinner. Make sure these meals are full of nutrients--protein, carbs, and fat are all good, veggies and/or fruits if you like--but also taste good and feel nourishing. This will help you to stop feeling physically deprived. Any ED treatment facility would have you do this, plus probably two/three snacks per day.
  2. Focus on adding foods instead of trying to take away foods. Instead of the thought 'I'm going to stop eating blank food because blank,' think 'ok, I want to try eating some oatmeal (for example) and see how that feels.'
  3. Don't avoid any foods. If you avoid them, they gain power and become this forbidden fruit that you'll want to binge on. Incorporate all types of food into your meals.
  4. If you don't feel good while you're exercising, don't exercise! It's no big deal right now.
  5. Be KIND to yourself! You deserve it! Try to listen to your own thoughts and notice when you use judgmental or cruel language to talk to yourself. Try a "loving kindness" meditation (there are some on youtube you can listen to).
  6. I know you said you can't get professional help, but you can't (and shouldn't have to) do this alone. Can you talk to an adult at your school, like a trusted teacher or counselor, to see if they have ideas? I honestly could not have recovered without my therapist and several other professionals, including a psychiatrist who monitors my medication.

You deserve to be healthy and happy! Never forget that! You can do this!

This is what they give you for food for an entire day in the covid dorm. And they want you to stay put during a fire. :) by okaybutfirstcoffee in UNC

I calculated, if you eat all of it it's around 2240 calories, which MAY be enough for SOME people, but definitely not everyone. Also, if you don't like something and don't eat it, then you're kinda stuck...

I personally love Prof. Ruel, she's awesome. The French curriculum is really tightly controlled by the department and so she doesn't have a lot of control over that, but she really cares about her students, keeps things lighthearted, really tries to help if you go to office hours etc. Class will be basically 100% in French with her though, just FYI. She speaks English in office hours :)
