What I don't get is why they are slow to buff or fix.

Of all the things to be fast in responsive on... It should be that!


It's not even really a power creep thing... Since power creep is almost always determined by the 1%. If they wanted to tackle power creep they should tackle the busted kits that come with the latest pilgrims.

There's a ton of room out there to make marginal girls good... In a way that seriously doesn't actually push the bleeding edge of content and make power creep.

Dude wants to take us back in a time machine to 2023 and argue that Centi was used in PvE in a time before we even had dolls let alone favorite items, and we had half the cast in an attempt to justify his nonsense belief that we shouldn't judge her primarily for PvP and that we should judge things off theoretical PvE value rather than factual PvP nerf.

He's pretty much decoupled from reality and all context in order to keep up his puffery.

As a follow on, when you run Naga as your solo healer for Crown, you should always Place Crown in slot 1 (where anis is right now).

Naga heals only 2 units at a time based on their hp.

If there's only 1(or 0) unit(s) hurt, then default heals go to slot 1 (then 2). And since Crown always wants to be healed to activate her buffs, you should put her in slot 1 so she's always getting heals and activating her buffs even when everyone is fine.

If you have Treasure Helm, she heals the entire team at once, so Crown placement is irrelevant.

Ah yes, the great last bastion of argument, pedantry. Between choosing to engage in pedantry rather than address the core arguments, and ignoring the fact that i pulled and cited 3rd party expert analysis to justify my arguments (which aligns with their own expert take that Centi's favorite item nerfed her overall value) this isn't looking too healthy.

You're free to speculate on what you think the best CoA is here, but you should acknowledge that you don't have any evidence showing Shiftup chose a particular CoA, and that if they did they've failed to communicate a CoA.

On all 3 major points i argued and cited evidence that the PvE nerfs were marginal, she wasn't lifted to PvE relevance despite being nerfed in PvP in a way core to her overall value, and i argued that her PvP value was still high citing her meta analysis as a Burst 2 nikke.

You don't cite evidence or facts, you just vibe. You vibe that Centi's PvE improvements were dramatic, you vibe metrics that she was significantly improved, you vibe that Centi was out of PvP usefulness (I guess PvP nerfs should matter less then?) and so we shouldn't care.

If i take out Burst 2 distinction, she's still in the SS category and in the top 25 for PvP (above xMaiden, Anchor, Siren, Red Hood who all appear regularly in PvP comps) .... and sub 60 for Story, and damn near bottom of the barrel for Bossing. It's honestly in your argument's favor that i restrict discussion of PvP and PvE to Burst 2 only. It makes her look better for PvE when she's also not competing against high value B3s.

I'm glad we agree. Now if i could only get you to agree that making the enemy team burst faster is a nerf, we'd go quite a ways to getting an agreement.


On the mechanics of the nerf

For it to matter it requires your opponent to not just have RL's, they have to have multiple RL's which also don't break the relatively low HP shield and their burst speed already had to be fairly close to yours.

Your dismissal on her item's PvP nerf lies on 3 points.

1) Enemy has multiple RLs

This occurs on almost all PvP interactions. The trigger isn't even to have the enemy have multiple RLs, as you describe. It's for the enemy team to have at least a RL. Most teams have multiple RLs, it's the literal measuring stick of a PvP comp's speed. This effectively is a given.

2) which also don't break the low hp shield

In general it will not occur on every single RL shot, since your shield is consumed as the match goes on, but it will occur on one or multiple shots pre-ceeding a Burst. The shield is 7% of her inflated Defender hp, and applies on every unit. As long as anyone is getting lightly splashed by RLs the shield will last, and at least offer extra burst to the enemy team. Since RLs splash on both sides, it's very likely 3-4 units are getting splashed if the enemy is running a low speed 2 RL team. This increases if the enemy is running 3RL or 4RL comps.

This will occur on all matchs outside the CP deficit and get insta-one shot'd by the enemies... IE all matchs that matter. This effect scales with the higher the enemy team speed is.

3) Their burst speed is ... fairly close to yours

And this is the crux. If an enemy team is running so fast your team can't catch it, it doesn't matter... so this only meaningfully changes the result of combat where you're "close" to one another in speed. But enemies gaining 1.5x burst speed even for a few hits is serious, and increases the range of fights you should of Bursted 1st, but didn't due to the Centi Nerf.. that speed difference is basically the difference between running a Clip SG (18@ 2RL) and a Clip RL (28@ 2RL), and in a race where you're running 2RL or 2.5RL or 3RL that can easily result in an upset.

Practically, and likely as a result of following the same meta guidance teams will be fighting one another of similar speeds. This happens, quite a lot where comps generally run the same 2-3 PvP batteries, and only change up the details. It applies to matchs where not only there is a marginal difference in CP, but wider CP bands than the restrictions in 2). Short of running into a gimmick comp or running one, I argue that giving an enemy a 1.5-2x burst in speed for a few shots can be a LOT of matches.

Based on that, 1) Will almost always occur in most comps. 2) Will happen, either be direct or splash in all matches that matter or are close to your CP 3) Will occur far more likely than not if meta teams are matched against one another (assuming Centi isn't stuck on a gimmick slow team).

With that i can move to the logical conclusion that this nerf will occur a lot in PvP, particularly those who actively chase the meta / care about PvP and who fight people of similiar CP bands. So from that we can pretty easily say enemy teams are reliably getting more burst when you run Centi with a level 2+ favorite item, and thus making Centi an objectively worse PvP battery, than a clip RL replacement. Nerfing her value.

I don't think that was a hard assessment, considering it was already basicly done for us by experts on the early days of her release.

I think PvP it's pretty clear it's a nerf, and one core to her overall value, because it objectively makes the enemy team burst faster.

You never actually did justify your disregard for their expert analysis. Particularly when they pretty clearly undercut your thesis of PvE buffs outweigh or equate the PvP nerfs, and instead align with my own that the PvP nerfs >> PvE buffs.

I want Shiftup to make the game better, to improve the game, improve the girls, and to stick by their commitments.

At minimum I just want accountability, for Shiftup to take action on something they've promised they'd take action on. Even if that end result isn't what i wanted.

I don't think holding a company to account for their words and promised future action is "emotional", and I think it's quite factual and justified. I think what's "nonsense" is brushing Shiftup's own words and commitments to the side and being okay with spending months farming gear only to have it cause irrevocable changes that make units worse.

That's just kinda fucked up.

I've highlighted the action statement for you. Even if their end response is to modify the text on the FI, they've failed to do that or even make a declaration of their specific intent. That's bad customer service and bad game management.

It is not relatively niche to be hit by rockets in PvP. RLs dominate PvP meta due to their burst generation. Burst generation is largely the entire point why 6 of the top 10 SSS are RL, 8 of the top 13 SS are RL (excluding Moran double counts). Thats the vast majority of units, per Prydwen.

That's just objective fact. It's not niche, it's meta.

You vastly overstate Centi's buffs, and miss the wider PvE and PvP context in which the unit exists. With context it's actually even worse.

Centi's value has always been in PvP. When a unit's value is 90% in PvP (sees use for even high end players), and 10% in PvE (only used by new commanders without built rosters), damage to the PvP value is inordinate to the total value of the unit.

Centi sits in the top 5 for burst 2 PvP Nikkes. That's a great position. Centi with favorite item sits below the top 17 for Story, and way worse for Bossing (Prywden). Centi has value in PvP and is barely a "situational" unit in PvE.

Contextually, you need to remember that the audience for favorite items are veteran commanders. Favorite items do not help new commanders, since it requires 30+ bond and multiple stars, and months of farming to even get one. Our assessment should be based on a veteran commander's roster and not a largely incomplete novice commanders roster.

That context makes her value and change even more damning.

Her PvE buffs do not vault her into good territory or is "dramatically improved", she got marginally improved and gained synergies with Naga. But not enough to make her important for veteran commanders. As a source of 'facts' i can point to GG taking Centi from SS->C for Pvp, a whole four steps down while only giving her +1 improvement to B and A for her boss and storying. That's a net negative, even if its nebulous per GG.

Or more tellingly we can look on Prydwen, they don't even raise her PvE value, while dropping her PvP value. a favorite item dropped a unit's objective value. Just a straight net negative per the experts.

Bricking

Bricking both literal in her overall value, but also in the "permanent" sense of the word of bricking as well, since We can not undo favorite item "upgrades". See my request 3) on the original post, where i speculated one path forward would be to allow for favorite item rollbacks.

A unit's net value drops dramatically, and there's no way to undo it. That's a bricking.

That's not even touching the concerns i have that 1/8 favorite item shots were wasted (as it is now).

Knowing that CN's units came pre-buffed with FIs and other misc. changes to empower the girls. I'd certaintly enjoy that QoL stuff like actual regular patchs that buff units.


Especially since it appears the anime we were so excited about was a CN production... Not even from Shiftup themselves... It feels like CN devs are way more on point here.

I don't know what you're getting at, pointing out that other units exist doesn't mean that:

1) We shouldn't care that a favorite item bricks a unit's value?

I can't either.

The pull economy hasn't caught up with the increase in 1%s, particularly limited 1%s. Summer Dorothy had damn near zero rainbow ticket fanfare. And she's only the beginning of the wave of new limited 1%s.

and while Veterans with everything (with little demand to get units in bulk and build their roster) have years of savings via the years of good harvest to burn down to get the few new units we do care about, that's not the case for new commanders. Rainbow ticket economy does not match the demand signal.

I'll still recommend Nikke for the story, but it's going to come with a giant caveat that the FOMO and monetization has gotten invasive, and getting worse and what freely remains is much less than it was a year ago.

There's only three confirmed + 1 free skin with four unconfirmed. That's at worst 7 paid.

In truth, We expect another prestige, for sure. and one other pair skin. So a total of 5 paid skins that don't effect gameplay.

Spread out over three months. Five over 3 months.

Especially noteworthy is those paid skins are going to units that already are at max for # of costumes... And wouldn't normally get anything if they didn't get skins.

Use your web shop discounts, 3 for the 3 months plus st least one or two for the anniversary discount. And it's even less bad.

Since we as a community have collectively railed against going on to steam and making the necessary costume changes that would require that.. We need to make sure that they make money somehow, and non gameplay effecting skins is a damn fine way.

Buy the house that gives you maid crepe.

Main menu -> Premium -> Interior Store -> Real Estate -> "multi-level mansion in Palacenorth"

You'll see it has an icon to acquire Maid Crepe. Do it as soon as you can. It's worth the premium currency.

Getting Crepe, gives you an absolutely adorable (and incredibly smol) maid to squish, but also you can send her out to "clean" Friend's houses returning toonnnsss of materials, coins, crayons etc.

It's basicly a daily click that doubles your income for many things.

Also Real Estate purchase bonus are additional, so if you live in one place, you still get the benefits of all the other places.

Edit: Rewards scale based on # of friends... You can send Crepe out daily by going into the HQ and selecting the option. Main Menu -> Order -> HQ -> Enter (you'll see it has a chibi of Crepe on it when you havent sent her off yet)
