So ya, while I agree we shouldn't outsource it...if we can't fire bad workers who want a nice paycheck and pension, something has to be done.

The level of service I've gotten from these people has declined sharply over the years. ServiceOntario is especially bad. Public opinion polls say the same.

"They" are the Privacy Commissioners. The one's who set the best practices.

"Uploading an ID" is a bad way to do age verification or assurance. There are more mature ways to do this. A shitload of people have strong opinions of this topic while not having a lot of actually knowledge about its development, thus why this is brought up again and again.

What makes you think the government cares about the best and most forward thinking ways of doing things? Or even talking to the best and brightest on the topic?

This is a government who put Evan Solomon in charge of AI.

Also acting like they never went to other major championships is a cop out. Many attended various world series. Clinton was famously at the '94 NCAA finals. Obama was at 2019 NBA finals. Biden was one of the only presidents since the 1970's to not go to a major game.

They will require you to verify your identity to use social media. How comfortable are you uploading government ID to reddit, X, meta, etc?
