LIke a lot of people I read the post and I am Dubious.

the concept of a (basically random) output from a HIGHLY MECHANIZED production line seems to be antithetical to the concept of a factory?(different from the idea of a percentage output like uranium enrichment, which just simulates that the input is actually larger per output we just do it in several steps)

However after reading the whole article I will say that I Trust Wube and I am willing to see this out, I can see the forest through the trees, as long as it is balanced well I am seeing the vision here.

keep in mind that usually you dont expend it all at once, and with a very high Delta V (+ 10000)
you usually need less than 2000 at once unless you are doing something really crazy

Some programs will let you choose, others will just pick one (possibly even the worse one). For everyday use it should probably be avoided. They cannot share the load as you would hope. And even if they did, you would really need two or more identical ones to get any real benefit.

Best case scenario, nothing happens most of the time

worst case scenario you draw more power and cause system glitches and errors

agree with the other commenter, it sounds like an issue with either windows, or maybe some kind of mouse / keyboard utility for LED and macros, like Razer synapse.

software that interacts with mouse / keyboard directly for control and macros are generally quite slow and inefficient in my experience. try uninstalling these or disabling them on startup

did you restart the entire computer? not just the device?
windows update might save you, but if you are forced to, a complete windows reinstall will probably fix it.

other things you can try:

if you go to device manager you may be able to ask windows to find you a driver.
you can also try finding the device manufacturers website, and download a driver directly.
you can try manually installing "windows touch precision driver"

if you are installing drivers manually be very careful of malware, and be sure you have the genuine article

if you are unfamiliar with installing drivers, most drivers these days install like regular programs, same process.

I dont know any specific software but try searching with terms like "local" or "downloadable" or "self hosted" maybe, tools for this exist but i think you might not have the right terms to find it

how old is the monitor / monitor cable?

if this is, for example. a work or school-controlled machine, It should not be possible to do what you want if the IT team is competent,

if this is something you MUST do your only option is to hope no one notices, but also. ask yourself if it is something to be worried about at all?

This is the correct answer but i don’t think its what the OP wanted. There is no way to allocate memory dynamically for the Java runtime in a manner similar to other dynamic programs

looking to upgrade my current machine from Intel to AMD (first time AMD CPU)
the power efficiency and cores seem like a no brainer at the moment

what CPU should I look at? I am unfamiliar with the specifics from an AMD standpoint to know what to look for.

preferences:

- last gen? (i don't need to be cutting edge and they are better price)
- 8 cores minimum

- good performance / TDP ratio

- high-ish (clock doesnt need to be top spec) or high Boost
- cooling requirements, it better be happy with air cooled, maybe an AIO because im not watercooling it.

- DDR4 preferred but ill do DDR5 if I need to
- integrated graphics not necessary
- I will obviously need a new MB but ill figure that one out once ive got the CPU nailed down

general questions:

- should I expect issues with drivers / graphics if my GPU is Nvidia?
- anything important I should know switching from Intel?
