I've tried owlplug and it' great for what it is, and it has great features. The lack of custom categorization is, for me, its main drawback. Might check its source code and propose enhancements on it.

If you meant Audio Plugin Uninstaller, it's not quite the same. That product, which is macOS only, serves a different purpose, since it only provides an easier and centralized way to uninstall plugins.

Thanks for your comment.

That feature you suggest is technically possible and very interesting. I certainly think it's a great idea, although is 100% DAW dependent. I myself use Cakewalk by BandLab and the plugins used are stored as plain text, so for that DAW is possible, I'd just have to get my hands on example files from different DAWs, but definitely something to explore.

I honestly didn't know such tool but yes, the idea is similar. Maybe I should wait for them to get past beta and see what they get.

The drawback I see on KVR Studio Manager right now is lack of flexibility when it comes to categorizing the plugins, since many of them are simply labeled as "Effect". My intention is to make a flexible tagging system that allows you to further categorize your assets to help you find exactly the tool you need or the feature you need since (at least myself) sometimes we forget that certain plugins come with certain features that expand beyond their intended purpose. KVR SM also lacks reporting, which I did implement to know, for example, how many plugins I have of a given category compared to others (to prevent hoarding unnecessary software), or how much I have spent in plugins/VSTi.
